If you're in the Bay Area and you're looking for a photographer who can capture the sweet, the sentimental, the drama, and the over-the-top fabulous moments of your wedding day, definitely check out EmmyJeanne Photography. I think Offbeat Bride readers will be especially fond of the shots from Phuong and Tommy's wedding, featured above. (Go to EmmyJeanne Photography andcClick "Weddings" and then select Phuong and Tommy from the list browse the photos.)

Emily Merrill, who runs EmmyJeanne, explains that "I love taking pictures of the dress, the tux, the flowers, the rings, the tears, the crazy relative that you want to forget, and the kisses…lots of kisses." She aims for authenticity and capturing the tiny details, and although she's based in San Francisco, Emily welcomes travel assignments. To see more work, head on over to EmmyJeannePhotography.com.

The offbeat bride: Teena, marketing coordinator and soon-to-be Etsy shop owner

My offbeat partner: Anthony, video editor extraordinaire

Location & date of wedding: San Francisco Bay — literally, we were on a boat

What made our wedding offbeat: Reflecting our approach to life, our wedding was simple, part handmade, part eco-friendly, part budget-conscious, and part compromise.

We wanted our wedding to be as handmade as our 5-month engagement would allow. I bought my handmade orange skirt on Etsy and built my own corset, using a strip of fabric from the skirt as trim.

The offbeat bride: Stefanie, Accountant/Opera Singer

Her offbeat partner: Aaron, Web Designer

Location & date of wedding: First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Francisco in San Fransisco, CA on December 13th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: The wedding was very detailed, complete with Renaissance music, vows rolled in parchment scrolls, a feather quill pen to sign the guest book, and custom head wreaths, ending in a Medieval feast.

Gamer weddingThe offbeat bride: karen, gamer

Her offbeat partner: PJ, video game journalist

Location & date of wedding: san francisco zoo, april 19, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Hoo boy. The tender union between two child-at-heart game industry kids is, of course, *unnormal* to say the least. We're both avid gamers who love animals. The venue really hit the nail on the wall. PJ proposed at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and how fitting it was to have the actual wedding at the San Francisco Zoo!?

The rings

Looking at this photo from Rachel & Ali's recent Persian wedding in San Francisco made me drooly — look at that amazing spread of food in front of them! Om nom nom nom… Really, all the photos from their wedding are amazing — clearly, they had some talented guests! I'm especially fond of this one from their Chinatown stroll, and Rachel's fab birdcage veil.
