And in case you missed my two part series, here 'tis! "Planning A Wedding from Afar Part I and Part II". Tips and tricks galore.. now dive into our wedding!

The offbeat bride: Shrie, Sign Designer/Music Writer

Her offbeat partner: Brett, Senior System Engineer

Location & date of wedding: YWCA in downtown Fort Worth, TX on Friday March 13th, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: I didn't wear a white dress… or a wedding dress! We had a close female friend become ordained to marry us (much to the chagrin of my family) and our dog was our ring bearer!

Anna ZatopekYou will know immediately if this is the sort of thing that interests you. Are you planning a retro-tinged wedding? Are you in Texas? Do you tend toward a little bit rockabilly and a little bit vintage?

…Then the idea of pin-up wedding portraits from Austin wedding photographer Anna Zatopek is sooooo up your alley.

Anna Zatopek is a wedding, portrait, pin-up and boudoir photographer in Austin, TX who specializes in doing Bridal Pin-Up sessions instead of the traditional bridal portrait sessions.

"The sessions are tastefully done to mimic the style of the vintage pin-up girl," Anna explained to me. "We provide props, accessories, gorgeous backgrounds and period hair and make up by the fabulous Cameo of Cameo's Atomic Hair Salon."

But still, you must check out these photos (courtesy of Austin photographer Suzi Q) for the bride's boots, pac-man groom's cake, tat-loving grandmas, and skull theme.

The offbeat bride: Kelly, Business Consultant

Her offbeat partner: Cory, Musician

Location & date of wedding: On the beautiful white beaches of Navarre, Florida down below our beach house, on September 27th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Well… we could probably start with the bride wearing black. The lady (myself) wore a 1950's Rockabilly, classic black & red satin & polka dot strapless dress with boned bodice and a hem that hit below the knees AND I purchased it for under $100.00 which was totally awesome!

Way back in August of 2007, I featured photos of Carol's flame-licked wedding dress.

…And now, I believe I have finally answered the question of where the dress came from: Mode Merr.

They have 'em in a different lengths and color combos.

If you're into that whole fiery wedding thing, go look.
