Coming from her background as a punk rock music scene photographer, San Francisco based Lauren Cohn-Frankel brings an approach to weddings that is about the individuality of every couple, both in style and substance. Because, as Lauren puts it,

"Offbeat weddings are about more than just cool and weird fashion and accessories; they are about moving beyond the superficial, about the right of every couple to put meaning and intention into every aspect of their wedding and make their wedding their own."

The offbeat bride: Lee, Massage Therapist

Her offbeat partner: Glen, Mechanic

Location & date of wedding: Peel Manor House, Karnup, Perth, Western Australia — Saturday 2nd Jan 2010

What made our wedding offbeat: The invites were concert tickets and we tried to keep the theme, cars and songs secret until the day.

What made our wedding offbeat: Jack is transgendered, and the way we decided to tell our family (well, Jacks half of the family, mine already called him, "he") is by having our officiant (who is also in an awesome rock band called Thrown Clear) pronounce us "Husband and Wife" and use all male pronouns throughout the ceremony.
