Our offbeat wedding at a glance: We had just moved to Seattle from the Midwest when we also found out we were pregnant. We wanted to get married, but it didn't take long to figure out that we didn't have enough money to throw the kind of wedding we wanted to have while simultaneously saving for a baby. More importantly, we knew a lot of our friends and family wouldn't be able to afford to travel to a wedding on such short notice. We figured if we had to do it with just us, we'd do it in style — 1940s style!

Are you a pregnant bride searching for dresses that don't "look like frumpy messes or pajamas"? Lucky for you, I love to virtually shop. Look at all these gorgeous and fun maternity dresses!

"We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." And this couple knows just how to throw a mad tea party on a budget, complete with key motif, Wonderland readings, and hats galore, natch. Plus they accented everything with peacock feathers… and real peacocks came around to steal them back!

Out in the Maine woods, and just a little bit lost, this wedding came together with the spiffiest wedding party this side of Serenity. A little bit steampunk, a little bit Firefly-inspired, and a whole lot of geek-tastic love made this party a woodsy, DIY, and inked-up awesome-fest.

Sometimes a wedding is a project for everyone in a couple's life, as was the case in this wedding where everyone pitched in. Held in a vintage theater outside of Chicago, the highlights were undoubtedly the meatloaf cake (plus brunch!) and the AMAZING Wai-Ching dress.

Scottish influences + potluck reception during the busy season = a rowdy, rockin' farm wedding! Most people pay top dollar for a local, custom menu, but these two have it at their (hard-working) fingertips.
