Our offbeat wedding at a glance: Matt and I decided to elope sometime in the fall of 2011. But after a few weeks of consideration, we realized that having an actual wedding with our closest friends and family was pretty important to us. However, the idea of having a big, traditional wedding in some pre-conceived venue just felt completely wrong. We wanted to have an event that felt unique to us and celebrated what we loved most: each other, fall, our close family members and friends, our pets, and a strong visual aesthetic (not necessarily in that order).

This wedding was planned while the couple was traveling between the UK, New Zealand, and Belfast, which makes it a beacon of logistic magic. But in the end they managed to combine some geeky loves with some gorgeous summer New Zealand weather for a picnic wedding to remember.

This couple blends Indian cuisine, fairies, bellydancers, Rajasthani and Tunisian dancers, fire-spinning and yes, Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It" on accordion, into a medley of colors and flavors too awesome to be kept indoors. They had to carve a place in Wisconsin's Driftless Region to hold all of this inspiration.
