Our offbeat wedding at a glance: We had a mad tea party theme. Lane and I both wore top hats, and my grandfather built the sign pointing all different directions from my mother's old fence. There was stacked china on the long dining tables serving hors d'oeuvres and giant china with potted plants on the guestbook table. There was tea (of course!), the officiants read from a vintage copy of "Alice in Wonderland," and the ring box had a key on it.

A diverse group of friends and family deserves diverse activities like fire spinning, hula hooping, live music, and of course… streaking. Wait, what? This couple had their ceremony kicked off in a seriously funny way. With their trusty pooch in tow, zoot suit-clad groom, surprise group blessing, and all the elements at their disposal, this was an outdoor wedding to remember.

An Offbeat Bride reader emailed us about her idea to wear a colored wedding dress while her bridesmaids don white ones. She also expressed her exasperation when it came to finding photos of other brides who have pulled off this fabulous color switcharoo. So, I thought I'd round up a few of our favorite examples from offbeat weddings past that just might have you re-thinking your wedding dress colors.

These two had awesome goals: stress-free day, guests enjoying their "quirky little world," and be comfortable. They managed all of that while still creating a beautiful outdoor ceremony and cozy party with a bunch of touching moments and lots of blissed-out looks. It's happy-sappy and I looove it.

Singing vows, locally-sourced and vegan cuisine, granola and plantable tree favors… have I got your attention yet? Despite getting rained out of their chosen forest ceremony site, this couple moved it all into a hunting lodge to continue the singing and celebrating.

A garden ceremony and beautiful old world stables make for a major statement, especially when you've never seen the venue and are planning it from across the world. These two somehow managed to craft an amazing Scottish party from all the way in Australia. Oh, and you might want to see how the bride managed to create her fantastic skirt and blouse combination. Black tulle and white ruffles… I die.

Scottish influences + potluck reception during the busy season = a rowdy, rockin' farm wedding! Most people pay top dollar for a local, custom menu, but these two have it at their (hard-working) fingertips.

It's not a "wedding," folks, it's merely "The Party," set in a teepee in a London back garden! This bride had her heart set on a polka dot retro dress, but she went classic for a mother's love. Total sweetness found within.
