Photo Pink is a duo of NYC-based wedding photographers who live to capture the honest and authentic moments of a wedding — not the "you stand here, they stand here" stiff portraits. As they say, "You want to spend your wedding day with your friends and family, not with your photographers (no matter how cool we may be."

And oh, they are cool. Since both Liesl and Randy are vegetarian, they specialize in animal-friendly wedding albums — including gorgeous linen, metal, pleather, and hardcover books. If you want a leather wedding album, they can get you in touch with someone … but I really appreciate how they've integrated their values into their business.

What made our wedding offbeat: Once we finally started to plan our wedding, the biggest question we asked ourselves was "What is our wedding about?"

My husbands main concern was making a binding commitment to one another (his big input: "So we're gonna need a priest…"). I was concerned with making a commitment to one another in front of our friends, family, and our gods and ancestors, followed by a fun party!

Location & date of wedding: Castle on the Hudson, Tarrytown, NY — October 31st, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Jared and I hate the traditional, and dread going to weddings. We decided to throw a huge bash on our favorite holiday, Halloween.

To ensure that our guests would losen up and have fun we had everyone dress up in costume. Jared wore jeans and we all decided to wear chucks and be comfortable. We got to be ourselves and had a stress free fun day.

What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding was OURS. It was US. I wanted to wear red and have the most gorgeous flowing dreadlocks. Mike totally dug his brown suit and when I asked if he wanted to wear a boutonniere he said "…do I have to?", to which I replied, "there are no rules, nothing we have to do…wear one if you want to, don't if you don't."

…He didn't.
