Thanks to exoskeletoncabaret for submitting this astounding photo of a steampunk wedding cake by Mike's Amazing Cakes to the Offbeat Bride photo pool:

Steampunk Wedding Cake

If that doesn't blow your go-go-gadget mind, I don't know what will.

From exoskeletoncabaret's caption:

Liz and Austin's steampunked wedding cake. The metallic gears, doors, rivets, and panels were all made of fondant and were entirely edible. This is probably the baddest-ass wedding cake you will ever see. Respect. Best part: the cake tasted just as decadent as it looked! I had a slice of the lemon layer after photographing it.

Check out another shot of this amazing steampunk cake over here.

Oh and in case you're wondering about the couple that would have such an amazing cake? BEHOLD:

The Offbeat Bride: Emily, Graphic Designer & Studio Artist (and OBT member "TheSueb")

Her Offbeat Partner: Ian, Musician

Location & date of wedding: The Loring Pasta Bar and Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MN — 9/20/08

What made our wedding offbeat: Our ceremony was in a restaurant that was shut down for a few hours. My girls and I walked down a giant staircase and the ceremony was held on a small stage. The best part is that we can relive our wedding anytime we want just by going out for dinner or drinks! I walked down the aisle to the "Bridal March" which transitioned into "Cum on Feel the Noise," by Quiet Riot played on the violin. My husband and I left to bagpipe music (a tradition in his family).

You've seen photos from this wedding of a magician & his assistant on Offbeat Bride before, but now it's time for all the glorious details …

By the FountainThe offbeat bride: Katie, magician's assistant & director of magic company

Her offbeat partner: Mario, magician

Location & date of wedding: The Lounsbury House, Ridgefield CT. October 11th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: As a magician and his assistant, we have a kind of unique lifestyle, and we really just wanted to share that with our family and friends.

In our everyday life, we are very inspired by all things vintage & vaudevillian. We love old silent films, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, and we incorporated as much of that era and attitude as possible.

We chose a venue consisting of several smaller rooms as opposed to one large banquet hall. This encouraged lots of movement and mingling. It was great to see everyone interacting!

We put our hearts into every details. I hand-drew a playing card caricature of us and then Goccoed it onto the cover of our programs. Our favors were postcards of vintage magic posters, and every guest got a hand-sewn felt "faux-stache."

The Offbeat Bride: Katie, Photographer & Teacher (aka. KatieMalone on the Offbeat Bride Tribe.)

Her Offbeat Partner: Clinton, Glass Blower

Location & date of wedding: A farm in Berkshire County, MA. — August 23, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding was perfectly us in every detail. We knew we wanted a fun country wedding that reflected us as much as it could, as well as entertain the various age groups and personalities of our guests.

The offbeat bride: Lani – High School Music Teacher (aka, LAMP on the OBT)

My offbeat partner: Jamie – Aerospace Ph.D Student (Rocket Scientist in training)

Location & date of wedding: Halifax, Nova Scotia – Halifax Marriott Harbourfront – August 9, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: I always knew that I wanted my wedding to be candy-themed. I have been a candyholic since I was a baby (I used to crawl onto the counter and eat straight out of the sugar jar) and my husband thought the candy idea was brilliant!

Our invitations were chocolate bars with the golden ticket inside, our centerpieces were candy jars with flowers (every table was a different candy), I had candy hair clips made from Murano glass candy for the ladies in the bridal party and oh yeah, there were some fake moustaches for the girls too.

The offbeat bride: Jenn, Musician and Music Teacher

Her offbeat partner: Cody, Social Security

Location & date of wedding: City Arts Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 28th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: We had a wedding with a concert theme, or rather a rock concert with a wedding in the middle. Our invitations were concert tickets with instructions to please wear your favorite concert t-shirt.
