Have a movie love affair with this Disney concert hall wedding
Diana and Luke got married in L.A. and wanted to put a little Hollywood magic into their wedding. And trust me, the magic is happening with movie-themed tables, popcorn favors, and ticket stub place cards. It was held in one of those venues that you just can’t even take in all at once (the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall!). The acoustics must be out of control, right? Good thing they had Del Atkins to make full use of it with his jazz band.
Jaime & Thomas’ Groundhog Day ski lodge wedding
Trying to remember your wedding day is a great idea, but trying to relive it like in Groundhog Day — now that’s an epic goal. That, plus lots more movie references abounded (including a Harold and Kumar reading!) And wait until you see what activity was planned for post-ceremony fun. Here’s one hint: they’re surrounded by snow.
A pop culture desert wedding
This couple makes a burned down ancient ruin of a church look gooooooooood. Paper flowers made from their first emails to each other, windy veil hilarity, and the biggest happiest laughing smiles are just the tip of the iceberg. Can you spot all the fabulous pop culture references?
A Princess Bride wedding channeling Westley and Buttercup themselves
You know our Offbeat Brides love them some references to The Princess Bride. (See our tag archive for proof!) The Impressive Clergyman makes appearances regularly. But rare is the time when we get some full-on Westley and Buttercup cosplay!
Give a nod to your idols by wearing a favorite movie accessory
Anatalie and Mario had a theatrical wedding full of movie references, but my favorite part was Anatalie’s addition of ruby slippers to honor her idol, Judy Garland.
An Indian-influenced wedding with a little bit of Pixar
George and Emily created an intimate afternoon wedding in Texas for their friends and family. Emily surprised everyone by wearing a white sari flown in from India to honor George’s heritage. They also had Indian catering, vintage book decor, and the movie Up playing in the background (since that was the inspiration for their proposal!).
