The Offbeat Bride: Christine – Financial Services Analyst/Music Blogger (and OBT member "Christine Marie")

Her Offbeat Partner: Greg – Dept. Manager at a car dealership/Musician

Location & date of wedding: Olde Gahanna Sanctuary, Gahanna, Ohio — July 18, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: Music is our passion, so there was no other theme for us. Everything revolved around music — concert ticket invites, RSVPs in AC/DC font, a "set list" instead of a wedding program, VIP laminates for the wedding party, custom guitar pick favors, vinyl records as part of the centerpieces. Our officiant was a very good friend/guitarist who happened to be ordained.

The offbeat bride: Naomi

Her offbeat partner: Casey

Location & date of wedding: First Assembly Church Chapel in Cedar Rapids, IA. November 1, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: For starters, I wore a black dress. It was actually a bridesmaid's dress, which made it tons cheaper.

Then, we did almost everything ourselves. I made our invitations on postcards. No real flowers — my bouquet was handmade from little christmas bulbs and tulle. Oh, and little white lights. Yes, it lit up!

Every tradition in weddings we pretty much went against. No unity candle, I stood on the 'wrong' side, my mom and dad walked me down, Casey had his parents walk him down.

There was no white was at our wedding — it was all black and bright blue.

What made our wedding offbeat: We had a wedding with a concert theme, or rather a rock concert with a wedding in the middle. Our invitations were concert tickets with instructions to please wear your favorite concert t-shirt.

J. Scott Indiana Wedding PhotographyOffbeat Brides in Indiana, your time has finally come! If you're looking for a Indianapolis wedding photographer who's friendly to the ways of the non-trad bride (red dress? fairy wings? no problem!), J. Scott Photography is ready for you.

Run by Jamie and Brandy, a husband and wife team who played the theme to "The Odd Couple" at their own wedding, J. Scott Photography's shots clearly run towards the artist and lush.

Jamie has a fine arts degree, and you can see from their wedding photo gallery that he definitely brings that aesthetic eye to his wedding photography as well.

For lots more shots from J. Scott Photography (including the cutest be-winged flower girls evar!) keep reading…

The offbeat bride: Annalise, Makeup Artist

Her offbeat partner: Adam, Carpenter

Location & date of wedding: Minneapolis, MN, November 3, 2007

What made our wedding offbeat: People loved to remark that our wedding was "our big, fat, vintage, native-american, Dia de los Muertos wedding."

Quilt ceremonyWe got married in a Native American church, using the traditions such as smudging, a water ceremony, and a quilt ceremony with our elders, and my husband spent some time in the teepee with our elders before the ceremony.

We also managed to fit it in with our favorite holiday, Dia de los Muertos, and my love of all things vintage into it.
