A colorful gay Mexican Dia de los Muertos wedding

This wedding explodes with color, papel picado, and Dia de los Muertos imagery. But seriously… the best parts are the choreographed ceremony entrance and the amazing choreographed hip hop first dance (that we teased last week!). Don’t fret, because there are videos for both that you don’t want to miss!

A sweet barn wedding with a string band

Maggie and Theresia made almost all of the decor themselves including all of the tablecloths, bunting, and book centerpieces. Friends made their cake and each of their grandmas made cookies. One of their favorite memories was when their friends, who had formed a band and practiced for weeks for this event, performed “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

A choreographed gay first dance

We’ll be featuring Ruben and Joaquin’s wedding next week, but we couldn’t wait to show you their amazingly fun hip hop first dance. They start out with Marvin Gaye’s “You’re All I Need to Get By,” but transitioned into the Mary J. Blige and Method Man version! It’s too cute to miss.

A performance center wedding in Brooklyn

Amanda proposed to Eliza in December of 2009 with her great-grandmother’s ring, and thanks to the July 2011 passage of New York’s Marriage Equality Act, Angela Gaspar got to shoot their wedding in Brooklyn, NY.

Rainbows all the way down: a marriage equality celebration

We love featuring same-sex couples like Daniel and Sauce who totally know how to get down and celebrate love. And here in the U.S., we have reason to celebrate a little more now that Maine, Maryland, and Washington have passed initiatives furthering marriage equality, and Minnesota voted down a constitutional marriage equality ban. To celebrate these victories, we’re traveling down memory lane to share some of our favorite same-sex weddings featured on Offbeat Bride.

Sophiya & Delphine’s French/Indian garden soirée wedding

These two were born and raised in two completely different parts of the world, don’t belong to the same race, speak the same languages, or share the same culture. France-meets-India by way of New York all the way to Montreal where these two ladies marry in garden with a lounge-style reception and a menu that would give other menus a run for their money.
