This carnival-themed wedding pretty much had it all… tattooed wedding party, high rockabilly/circus fashion, adorable groomsmen in suspenders, blue hair, beautiful Hawaiian landscapes, two wedding dresses and bridal shoes that'll make you do a spit-take.

Need more convincing? Check out the bridal party's Dirty Dancing wedding entrance…

Oh Red Heart Photography you have done it again… you've brought us another incredible offbeat couple rocking a sweet Hawaiian wedding! This time it's Christina and Justin and their awesome wedding style.

I love the groom's all black, "Johnny Cash" look. It's one of those outfits that you NEVER see grooms wearing for an Hawaiian beach wedding. And, I'm sorry, what shoes are they wearing!?

Oh yeah, that's what I thought… awesome shoes.

And don't even try to act like you aren't in love with Christina's ink!

Trust me, you want to go to the Red Heart Photography blog to see more of the incredible photos from Christina and Justin's 09-09-09 wedding on the Big Island. And hopefully we'll be getting the full scoop on the wedding soon!

This photo of Mariko encapsulates her and Jeremy's insanely classy-with-a-bite Hawaiian wedding:

But really, you must see the entire set of shots by Hawaii photographer Frank Amodo, which includes portraits that will make you love bamboo even more than you already probably do:

A few weeks ago, I put the call out for a new intern to help me keep the Offbeat Empire running smoothly. I was flooded with applications from people who are all so awesome that I wanted to have them all over for drinks, but ultimately I could only pick one … and so I picked Megan. Those of you on the OBT may know her, but I figured the best way to introduce her to the rest of the world was with … well, her bride profile!

The offbeat bride: Megan, photographer

Her offbeat partner: Aaron, sound engineer

Location & date of wedding: Keawakapu Beach, Maui, HI – 10/10/08

What made our wedding offbeat: Well, it all started because of a shark attack. We got engaged after Aaron was almost eaten!

We decided to celebrate the "attackiversary" by getting married on the same island where Aaron was almost killed a year later. Our wedding became more of a 3-day long celebration of life than a wedding.

The groom, Aaron, made a grand entrance by coming into the beach wedding site on a canoe that was being rowed by our friend's rowing team. We had 12 conch shell blowers who also sang for us in Hawaiian. We were married by a local Hawaiian man who added chants and the Hawaiian language into our ceremony. All our guests gathered around us in a circle as we got married instead of sitting on chairs. I had a "man of honor." And we also had a "shark ceremony" after we exchanged our vows to thank the shark for letting us have Aaron and for leading us to this day.

I'm a longtime fan of wings in weddings, but usually it's brides and flower girls wearing wings. It was so refreshing to see Fairylove's wedding gallery, which features several shots of a Hawaiian groom rocking his own set of wedding wings:

The gallery also features what look like ring bearers and bridesmen wearing wings as well! For lots more wing pictures, head on over to Fairylove.
