Our offbeat wedding at a glance: When we set out to plan the day, we approached it as if we were just planning a party, except a much larger one than we've ever hosted before. We wanted to do most everything ourselves to save money, be creative, and to infuse as many details as possible with homages to the geeky things that we've long bonded over.

Both of us played to our strengths for our solo responsibilities. I was responsible for graphical and document design, including a mock Magic the Gathering card-style invitation. I also designed a wedding program adorned with Brian Froud-style artwork.

Dungeons & Dragons, sci-fi vows, games, the Time Warp… it's a geek's paradise! After finding the venue by putting a note on the door, these two planned a local garden wedding to whet every gamer's appetite. And don't think this bride isn't up for the challenge when she forgets her vows at home!

Video games, gaming conventions, board games… you get the idea. These people like to game! Their Skyped-in bridesmaid, hand-screen printed ties, and Skittles toast were the icing on this geektastic cake. Plus, the bride shares some sage advice for those who choose to sew their own wedding gowns.

A rainbow xkcd cake with raptor cake topper, an arcade party with Donkey Kong favors, and a gorgeous garden ceremony that blends tradition while shaking things up. I know this is some of y'all's dream wedding. And it certainly was for this pair.

Tribe moderator Mich has a flair for DIY and it totally shows in her handmade dress, fascinator, shawl, bridesmaid dress, and 1000 paper cranes! And that's not even listing everything. The rest of the story involves Transformers, gothic red and black details, and some of the sweetest dance moves, including a man-on-man Dirty Dancing lift.

Tons of DIY, an awesome first look with which we had to tinker, a mashed potato bar, an all-Motown-all-the-time reception, and a favorite movie theme means lots of amazing personal touches. Plus, the bride saves the day with a bridesmaid dress snafu. Fair warning: get your tissues ready for their favorite moment.

These two were made to get married in the bar where they work and watch their favorite bands play. But they didn't expect a cameo appearance from the lead singer of Soul Asylum. I don't blame him for party crashing since they had awesome cupcakes, a fried noms "cake," and a kick-ass rocker ceremony.
