Our offbeat wedding at a glance: It took us two years to plan our wedding on a tiny budget, and the day went past in a complete blur. I wanted the wedding to have this feeling of dark elegance, but a casual atmosphere, and we found a beautiful location for it in The Elizabethan Pub. It was important for both of us to enjoy as much time with our guests are possible, so we greeted them as they arrived at the ceremony site with cupcakes and champagne!

At Offbeat Bride, we make no secret of our never-ending ongoing love-affair with John Fluevog shoes — you've seen them so many times here on the site that we have an entire tag archive for them. Even if you don't think you know Fluevogs, you do. Remember Deee-Lite? Remember the lead singer? She wore Fluevogs.
…And if I have anything to say about it, you will too.

It seems that for many grooms you have two options for footwear: you can go bland and formal, or you can wear Converse All-Stars. Now, don't get me wrong: I LOVES ME SOME CHUCKS. It's just that we've got 13 pages of grooms in Converse and not many options for grooms who might want something funky that's NOT Cons.

And so this week we take a break from women's footwear to bring you sweet-ass dude shoes. I tried to go for a range of styles — from oxfords and lace-ups to slip-ons and sneakers. That said, some of these fancy dude shoes are PRICEY…but I don't think it's fair that only the ladies are allowed to gawk nice things, so I included the overpriced Italian options for the grooms who love to get fancy.

Their first date was at a theatre and their wedding was held in that same place. D'aww! These two ladies are social butterflies since they had their son, and the sheer amount of people wanting to show their love meant they had to plan for it — in the form of a three-day celebration!

The backdrop to this gothic punk wedding is certainly not the norm. Picture a craggy sea, 1000-foot drop, and whales hitting the surface. The combination of the elegant corsetry, skull details, and seaside winery setting had me at "hello."

You say you want some geek chic in your life? We're bringing it hardcore with this wedding. Gamers, sword fighters, King Richard VIII, the full Princess Bride ceremony, a D20 that determines who kisses who… it's fantastic. Put your nerd pants on and check out this kick-ass wedding brought to you in the name of all things geek!

When some fossilized friends make their way to the ceremony, you're in for a Jurassic-sized party. This couple even had to hire a bounty hunter to protect their uber intricate Millennium Falcon cake. That's right, we've got Star Wars, dinosaurs, and the coolest mix of geek and chic this side of an ice age.
