Date and location of wedding: Bee Rock Ranch just outside of Paso Robles, CA — May 14, 2011

Our offbeat wedding at a glance: We got married on a friend's family ranch outside of Paso Robles, CA — 160 acres with no electricity or plumbing. We hosted approximately 80 people to camp with us for the weekend and provided all food, drink, entertainment, and portable toilets. We made almost all of the decor and invitations. The maid of honor made all the centerpieces, wedding party bouquets, and boutonnières with store-bought flowers.

A ceremony at dusk with lanterns, candles, and lights. A black gown, fire-red hair, and fabulously rich-looking decor. The groom in leather armour and the bridesmaids in capes. Have I got you yet? Check out this forest wedding for all of this and more.

A troupe of body builders, stilt walkers in studded thongs, 75 dancers, in-character actors serving food, and eight bodyguards for the couple — yep, it happened. And it happened in Bali, in an amazing venue, despite seemingly insurmountable familial doubt. But hey, you want the performance of a lifetime, you do what you have to do to get it. And boy, did they.

The Offbeat Flickr Pool was sporting some icy drinking, fire dancing, and all things cute and sweet. It was quite the contrary mix of photos. Check out the dinosaur luges, ball and chains, and paper flower explosions in this week's Monday Montage.

LuvFest 2010 was an amazing homespun music fest featuring live music, lawn games, bonfires, fire dancers, multi-day camping, and a little rain to cool everyone off. That isn't enough? Oh, there was a wedding too. Love was all around at this festival of killer jams and awesome vows.

This couple blends Indian cuisine, fairies, bellydancers, Rajasthani and Tunisian dancers, fire-spinning and yes, Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It" on accordion, into a medley of colors and flavors too awesome to be kept indoors. They had to carve a place in Wisconsin's Driftless Region to hold all of this inspiration.

When it comes to Venetian versus steampunk, why pick one or the other? This couple went all out for a masquerade wedding in an art gallery. Inquire within for fire dancers, Dr.Suess vows, and a Mad Libs guest book.

This bride will eat fire for her wedding guests! Don't think she won't. And this couple saved a historic theater in the process of planning their hitchening. Determined? To say the least.
