When I saw this photo pop up in the Offbeat Bride photo pool, I thought to myself HEY WAIT A MINUTE!

That gorgeous wedding dress? I KNOW THAT DRESS! I'VE WORN THAT DRESS! It's called the Druid Dress and it's made by a UK clubwear company called Alienskin Clothing. It's 100% cotton and stretchy and suuuper comfortable and comes with these amazing arm-warmers and overlock stitched detailing and it's completely cyber/raver clubwear and yet OH MY GOD it makes a stunning wedding dress. And I guarantee you, that's the most comfortable woman ever featured on Offbeat Bride. No corsets, no boning, no lacing up or scratchy crinoline. Just stretchy cotton and a little bit of fairy magic. It's also the first hooded wedding dress I've ever seen. I'm in love! If you love it as much as I do, check out Alienskin's other truly offbeat bridal wear.

You know it's a left coast hippie wedding (secretly, my very favorite kind) when you've got your bridesmaids dressed up as chakra fairies:

If you lean towards the hippie/raver forest fairy end of the offbeat spectrum (which GOD KNOWS I do!) you need to see all the photos on Facebook of this very Northern Californian wedding. (You'll need a Facebook account to view them.) And thanks so much to Jessica for sending the shots to me.

The offbeat bride: Miranda Podger, Registered Nurse

Her offbeat partner: Mike Podger

Location & date of wedding: The dance marquee in a very muddy field at the Pontardawe Music Festival in Pontardawe, South Wales, UK on August 16th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: A traditional wedding with all the trimmings was never going to be right for Mike and myself. This was the second marriage for both of us and we're not what you'd consider the most traditional, mainstream of couples. We got engaged on Christmas Eve 2007 and married August 16th 2008, so that didn't give us long to plan things. Plus we had a very small budget (in the end we managed to pull it off with a spend of around £300!)

The offbeat bride: Patricia, journalist

Her offbeat partner: Christiaan, assistant bank manager

Location & date of wedding: The Thatchery in Johannesburg, South Africa on October 12th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Firstly, the wedding budget was pretty low. Originally, I thought the most offbeat aspects were the fact that we were barefoot and I was wearing wings.
