Offbeat groom Shaun chimes in to share the story of Lauren and his Dr. Seuss themed, buddhist/quaker inspired beach wedding. Shaun did most of the planning while Lauren was busy with school. He even went as far as referring to himself as "the bride." SO CUTE!

Ally & Jake are laid-back, nature loving, mountain nuts. So they had a simple wedding in a meadow followed by a raging dance party in a local barn! Sara & Mark made sure their guests were entertained at their wedding! They did this by taking advantage of the space at their venue: a vineyard in Santa Ynez. They created different areas of entertainment for the guests, like a s'mores fire-pit, a cigar lounge and a photo-booth. They even put on an improv show, which Bill Nye the Science Guy was in!! Margaret & Dave met while traveling in South Korea. They bonded over a shared love of the itinerant lifestyle. Their ceremony reflected this. The had completed the old sailor's tradition for travel which includes taking two shots of rum! My partner and I aren't at all religious, but both work in scientific fields and spend most of our free time hiking and rock-climbing. Add in that we're both hopeless geeks, and a science museum is the obvious place to get hitched. Kavisa & Schuyler's goal was to make their wedding as eco-friendly as possible while expressing themselves and their religious beliefs. Since Kavisa is Baha'i her mom read a Baha'i prayer. As an anthropologist, Theresa gets her "geek on" about rituals, so they carefully planned out every detail of their ceremony. This meant a small vegan rainforest wedding followed by a cruise on the Daintree River. |
