This bride altered her original wedding gown for her gorgeous vow renewal

My husband, Anindeep, and I came to our tenth wedding anniversary very much different people than we were so long ago, now personally and emotionally more enriched. We decided a vow renewal was necessary to celebrate ourselves in this new chapter in realizing our individual selves and expressing our togetherness more meaningfully to each other.

Photography (duh) and fashion are priorities for me, so with NO attire budget and exponentially growing dressmaking skills, I suddenly found the confidence to alter my own wedding gown.

Add colored buttons to your white dress

I've been having regrets about getting a white (well, ivory) dress. Even if it's beautiful and vintage-y and I love it. It was just feeling too traditional-ish. So I've changed out the gazillion white buttons in the back for custom hot-pink ones that I found on Etsy!

DIY corset pattern, fitted exactly to you, with duct tape

It is completely possible to buy a pattern to make a corset for yourself, but if you have non-standard measurements, there is a decent chance that the pattern will require a high amount of alteration anyway. So why not just make a completely custom pattern, fitted exactly to you, with duct tape? I did and it has been awesome!
