Try making your own simple, affordable Tetris lightboxes out of those candy boxes so easily found around Valentine's Day. Continue reading » Over on Offbeat Home, Cat has a roundup of some super inspirational seasonal decor ideas. Of course, I couldn't help but see how PERFECT some of those ideas would be for your winter weddings. Here are three of my favorite ideas. Hey, fellow Star Wars nerds! Think you've gotten all your Star Wars-themed wedding decor all figured out already? Well, think again — I'm about to show you something that's gonna make you smash your imaginary reception table with the sheer brilliance of these… My husband and I chose our wedding colors by comparing stashes of paint chips we grabbed from the hardware store. But what if paint chips WERE the palette? The gradation of hues is awfully romantic-looking, and stores let you have them for free. Here are a few ridiculously easy projects using (or at least inspired by) paint chips! It's been a while since I did my first card box roundup, so I thought I'd inundate you with all the latest and greatest ideas in card boxes. In this installment you'll kitties, elephants, and amps galore! Who knows where my love of midway illuminated lettering comes from, but it's definitely fed by my addiction to Disneyland. More specifically, the part of the park called "Main Street, USA," which consists of gift shops and ice cream parlors dressed up to look like an early 20th Century bustling downtown street on speed. Too shiny not to love. But I digress… Typically an illuminated letter like this is made of metal, is very heavy and would cost you a pretty penny. I knew I wanted something to light up at my wedding, so I figured I'd make my own midway letters. You can too! And there are power tools involved! Guys, I'm not the least bit embarrassed about how much I really love writing about offbeat sponsor Little Things Favors. I love looking at all the awesome wedding ecoutrement that can be found over there. I even recently bought party favors for my grandma's 80th birthday from Little Things! But don't let their name fool you — Little Things Favors offer much MUCH more than just favors. You can get practically ANYTHING you want for your wedding over there. Allow me to show you a few of my favorites little things (see what I did there?)… Kyra and Mitchell had a Tim Burton-themed Halloween wedding in North Reddington Beach, Florida. And while you may have seen amazing Tim Burton-themed weddings before, you've NEVER seen anything like Kyra and Mitchell's spooky, Burton-y, Halloween table decor. WARNING: their centerpiece, while beautiful, just might give you seven years of bad luck and/or cut you. |
