How to DIY coloring pages from a photo for your wedding reception

We’ve been throwing around the idea of this wedding coloring sheet for years but never had a great tutorial for how to make one yourself, which you absolutely can do. Yep, you don’t have to outsource this project to someone else if you have access to a program like Photoshop, GIMP, or Pixlr. I’m going to be demonstrating it with Photoshop, but the steps are mostly translatable between each program.

We love our offbeat lite brides, and this wedding totally captures that traditional-meets-personalized vibe, including a gorgeous chapel and a little bit of gothic, Edward Gorey-style decor. The custom illustrations drawn by the groom are rocking my world! And if you’re planning a birdseed recessional, take heed. I think the bride’s still picking out seeds from her hair.

Lisa and Bill’s ’80s-themed wedding had a big neon cake, records everywhere, and mix tape favors. But one of my favorite parts was their coloring book-style placemat for the kids in attendance.

Unicorns, dragonflies, and an awesome skull stein

Cheryl and Gabe had their table numbers align with photos of themselves at that age. They were pretty sweet at four. The Offbeat Flickr Pool, Pinterest, and the Offbeat Bride Tribe also offered us some custom programs, a unicorn shirt, a dreadlocked ‘do, and a persistent dragonfly.
