I've been giving you tastes of little crocheted elements from OBT member Corinne's wedding planning updates — now it's time to get all the details from her actual wedding!

The Offbeat Bride: Corinne – Receptionist/Crafter

Her Offbeat Partner: Jesse – Kennel Technician/Dog Walker/Artist/Home Brewer/Haunted House Actor

Location & date of wedding: Jesse's brother's backyard in Wheat Ridge, CO — June 27, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: Jesse and I don't like to be the center of attention, and since we've been together for ten years, we decided to make our wedding as much fun as possible and not so much about us but more about our families and friends.

Here's a wonderful DIY non-floral centerpiece idea from Katie Sue's wedding — a log-sliced wooden base, with two wrapped candles and trivia about wedding traditions held aloft for guests ponder:

& Candles

We hand-made everything we could, including the boutonnieres, invitations, programs, thank-yous, centerpieces, signage, bouquet, and headpieces.

Wow. OBT member Corinne is responsible for this amazing wedding creation (as well as the fabulous crocheted flower embellished bouquet from last week). This crocheted cake has all the beauty and drama of an offbeat wedding cake without all the expense and the possibility of cake in the face.

(OBT members can see an even larger version of the photo here.)

gem and melThe offbeat bride: Gem – art lecturer (and OBT member!)

Her offbeat partner: Mel – sex boutique proprietor

Location & date of wedding: Brighton Town Hall/beach/pier, Brighton UK. Wednesday the 6th of August 2008.

What made our wedding offbeat: Being a gay couple started events in a generally non-regular tradition and our family and friends realized quickly that it wasn't going to stop there … we wanted a day that would fulfill our dressing up fantasies, even if that meant just being really comfortable. We didn't want anyone in starchy suits if they weren't going to feel at ease and our wedding was primarily about enjoyment.
