Here's to the last day of "geek week" weddings and the end to the count-down the book reading! And do I got a doozy for ya… See what happens when two comic book dorks fall in love. I'll give you hint — utter amazingness. -Megan

Hooray! The offbeat bride: Ann, Reservations Agent, Dork, and Sewing Superhero (and OBT member "Ann Verleg")

Her offbeat partner: Sean, Kitchen Manager, Dork and Ann’s personal Chef

Location & date of wedding: St. Andrews on the Square Kamloops, British Columbia Canada — October 31st, 2009 Halloween

What made our wedding offbeat: Our quest was to make our wedding hilariously fun and heartfelt. Everything was about us and our weird and wonderful imagination. We had a Viking themed ceremony that included a sword ceremony and dowry exchange, a dorktastic photo shoot in the park and at the comic book store where we met, a reception complete with beard contest and a pajama party/gift opening at breakfast.

As someone who often puts together these bride profiles while watching marathons of Doctor Who, this "geek week" wedding really made me happy. Also it's a first for "costumed wedding cat" that I know of! -Megan

Her offbeat partner: Rob, High School teacher

What made our wedding offbeat: From the get-go, our wedding was anything other than traditional. We chose a sci-fi themed wedding based on the the TV show Firefly and movie Serenity, that represented our love of sci-fi and a reason to be eco-friendly.

Wow, we've been teasing this wedding for quite a while now… Remember the "Yay!" flags, made by OBT member Michele, that everyone loved so much that we made Michele give us an "how to" post? And then remember the awesome steampunk groom fashion post? Well that was all from the same wedding and we finally have the whole scoop!

Remember the bellydancing bride we fell in love with a little while back? Well, she was kind enough to give us the whole scoop on her amazing wedding festivities.

The Offbeat Bride: Christina, Jewelry Designer

Her Offbeat Partner: Jason, 3D designer

Location & date of wedding: The Maryland Renaissance Festival, Crownsville MD — October 17, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: I always knew that I didn’t want the traditional white dress and church wedding. I’m Pagan, and Jason isn’t particularly religious. Plus, I look dreadful in white! The Maryland Renaissance Festival has been a part of both of our lives for a long time — I’ve been going every year since I was a little girl! We look forward to it and always have so much fun there, so it seemed natural choice for venue. Problem solved!

Thanks to Raelyn from Helmutwalker Photography for letting us know about this super surreal wedding they photographed. Clara & Brandon had a storybook themed wedding, complete with awesome costumes for the kids!

And also, I can't get over how beautiful this bride's smile is…
