A 1950s-inspired Aussie wedding with a serenade
Lucille and Chris were married in the courtyard of University House, Canberra Australia. Chris played his ukulele as Lucille walked down the aisle. So sweet! The pair also opted to have indie cabaret duo The Jane Austen Argument play at the reception.
Kat & Scott’s gamer geek gathering (with a side of wedding)
This pair knows how to play to their audience: board games, Rock Band, and gamer references all over this joint. They even have D6 cake pops! You’ll also love the sweet ending to the tale of a nervous brother and his ring warming duty. This is one kick-ass geekfest for gamers and those who love them.
An aquarium, a mandap, and a Star Wars save-the-date
An aquarium wedding with a shark and awesome glasses? I am in for this. Get ready for some red crinoline, a singing father/daughter dance, and some awesome handmade save-the-dates and invitations.
A fabulous rainbow geek social media wedding
I’m going on 300 weddings edited and this is the FIRST French wedding I’ve done! In fact, we haven’t seen one in over two years. But when it finally came around, it came around with a bang. You will love this adorable couple, their rainbow-tastic details, geeky references, funky dancing, and ingenious use of the Tribe to get to vendors they wouldn’t otherwise have access to in France.
A sock posse, a Mad Libs RSVP, and a couple of mohawks
This Monday brings us a slew of reader submissions including the stripey sock brigade, a couple of mohawks, and a movie poster invitation. It may be Monday, but at least we have each other and these awesome photos. Check out what Pinterest, The Tribe, and the Offbeat Flickr Pool have gifted us this week.
We love this couple and their pink details
This photo of Offbeat Wed reader Pinkerbell and her groom just radiates happy! First, can we talk about how their pink details all match — her belt and petticoat and shoes, and his tie! Next, we need to talk about the sheer joy we feel at seeing folks getting married who aren’t in their 20s. Loves comes to us at all ages, and weddings aren’t just reserved for the young. More mature weddings, please!
