The offbeat bride: Emily, Geologist & General Rock Geek

Her offbeat partner: Dave, Environmental Consultant

Location & date of wedding: The deck of my parent's cottage in central Alberta, Canada on June 5th, 2009

I'm a longtime fan of wings in weddings, but usually it's brides and flower girls wearing wings. It was so refreshing to see Fairylove's wedding gallery, which features several shots of a Hawaiian groom rocking his own set of wedding wings:

The gallery also features what look like ring bearers and bridesmen wearing wings as well! For lots more wing pictures, head on over to Fairylove.

The offbeat bride: Kelly, Writer and TESL Teacher

The offbeat bride: Maria, Success Coach

Her offbeat partner: Luke, Fraud Specialist

Location & date of wedding: Rotture: Portland, OR- August 31st, 2008

Star Wars WeddingThe offbeat bride: Laurie, Admin. Asst.

My offbeat groom: Santiago, Quality Control Engineer

Location & date of wedding: April 1, 2007. Methuen Memorial Music Hall in Methuen, MA for ceremony / Springstep dance & arts complex in Medford, MA for reception

What made our wedding offbeat: We had a very DIY wedding, with tons of help from friends. I wrote our ceremony. We had a potluck reception with better food than many catered affairs I've attended. We bought flowers online and arranged them ourselves. I am Jewish, he is Catholic; we decided to have a secular wedding with elements of each tradition, with a hefty dose of science fiction/fantasy geekery thrown in.
