A funky shoe wedding with a reception dress twist
After initially wanting a beach wedding in South Africa, Claire and Richard decided to share their joy with their families in the UK. And get this: the theme for the day was funky shoes and a surprise dress change!
Fairy swords, a woodsy tablescape, and a Snowy Mountain stroll
Tribesmaid Laurasonja and her groom got married in the Snowy Mountains, making for some truly epic, wintry photos like this one. There were also some snazzy “fairy swords,” bad-ass bridesmaids, and some woodsy decor in the reader submissions this week.
Papier mache centerpieces, fairy wings, and some awesome cake cuttings
Tribesmaid Remi crafted these epic papier mache chess pieces with her groom the summer before they got engaged. She says, “We’re not even that into chess, but after spending 100+ man-hours making them, they seemed like the perfect centerpieces.” This week’s reader submissions also bring us some playground fun, a family cake cutting, a not-so-family cake cutting, and a couple clad in fairy wings and a cape.
Lara & Mark’s fiery medieval-inspired handfast wedding
A ceremony at dusk with lanterns, candles, and lights. A black gown, fire-red hair, and fabulously rich-looking decor. The groom in leather armour and the bridesmaids in capes. Have I got you yet? Check out this forest wedding for all of this and more.
Diane & Nicolas’ pseudo-Tudor performance and games wedding
The bride wears a rad crimson cloak and walks down the aisle to… 16-bit game music! This French couple goes Brit for a super fusion of theater, singers, and get-to-know-you games, all with a Tudor influence. Yeah, you should see it.
Alison & Matt’s Icelandic wedding & Philadelphia library reception
Instead of a cake cutting, we had gingerbread versions of ourselves and bit off each other’s heads.
