Her offbeat partner: Sean, Chef

Location & date of wedding: Studios In The Exchange, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada — August 29, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: We decided to do our own take on tradition. We didn't want to eliminate traditions all together just because we didn't believe in them, we wanted to show how we could interpret them in our own unique way.

We were together for ten years already and didn't want it to be all about us getting married. We wanted it to be more of a celebration of the relationship we already had and are planning on continuing.

Just want to send out a quick "happy birthday!" to Esther, who also informs me that this particular offbeat bride, is also soon to be an offbeat mama — she got pregnant on their wedding night!

The offbeat bride: Esther, Infographist

Her offbeat partner: Dan, Logistics Manager

Location & date of wedding: Westmount Park, Montreal, QC — August 15th, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding day was mostly stress-free. We spent less than $1000 by having our friends help. I bought my flowers at a little community-oriented shop by my house who gave me great deal. We chose to eat in the backyard of a restaurant COOP called Touski who nicely agreed to rent it to us for free and chose to get married in a Park, which was also free of cost. We had planned to distribute umbrellas in the event of rain but we were blessed with a sunny day. We chose an agnostic and open-minded officiant who did the ceremony in both French and English, since my fiance's family is American and mine is French-Canadian. I was lucky that my close friend did my make up, and another friend did the photography.

What made our wedding offbeat: Our quest was to make our wedding hilariously fun and heartfelt. Everything was about us and our weird and wonderful imagination.
