A love of DIY and a love of comic book superheros was just the start of the planning for this party. Deciding on a live band was a compromise that paid off. Plus, they said their vows in the same church Amanda's grandmother attended and in which her great-great-grandparents were married. Aww! When you've done it once the wrong way, sometimes you come out of it knowing exactly the way you want it this time — a polka-dotted, red and blue, retro, DIYed outdoor bonanza. There were lots of happy tears (with video), excellent fashion and style choices, and even some vows that include Yankee Candles. These two initially didn't know they were planning their wedding on Transgender Day of Remembrance, but they ended up embracing the overlap with a moment of silence and a hymn in honor of the day. They also stuck to their guns when they decided to keep this celebration very small. But there was one member of the wedding party who had to be there: their dog! This retro-loving pair incorporated bowling, Vegas, rockabilly fashion, and photo op hijinks into their awesome two-part day. This included an intimate ceremony in Vegas, followed by a crazy bowling party in Dallas with a candy bar and the most adorable sundae-shaped flower centerpieces! There is some serious music loving going on here and it shows in all of the awesome song choices and self-DJing. This pair also loves DIY and specifically knitting, which led them to craft tons of knitted details including their cake topper, bouquets, and hair flowers. And you just might love the bride's gorgeous green gown! Sometimes you have too many interests to smoosh into one wedding. Such was the case with this Aussie wedding in a lush garden. Though they ran into a few problems with vendor communication, you'd never know it by the end result. Enjoy this lovely, stylized wedding (with a bonus legal wedding!). It rained and it poured on this poor outdoor wedding. But love persevered when they decided to get hitched come hell or high water. With the magic of friends and familial labor, an adorable book-filled breakfast room was made into a ceremony space. Along with their classy restaurant reception, it is easy to see even budget and weather can't ruin a good time. (And don't miss their son's cameo at the ceremony!) |
