A dreamy, handcrafted fall farm wedding in the Catskills

Lauren and Olivia (aka “Chicken”) had the most dreamy farm wedding with epic views of the Catskill Mountains. We’re talking rustic nature-inspired centerpieces, a rich autumn color palette, and a a rainbow effect in the bridesmaids dresses.

Don’t miss the farm animals milling about, the lawn games, the handcrafted details, Olivia’s chicken cufflinks(!), and these two gorgeous people in love…

Clashes of steel at this choose-your-own-adventure warrior wedding complete with a quest

As James and I met in martial arts, and one of our favorite things to do is go to Renaissance festivals, we decided to put a good third of our budget to awesome custom armor sets. We special-ordered swords. I made my own scabbard. We commissioned one of my favorite artists for custom illustration made into our tapestry.

We did our own simple decorations and set up. The ONE RULE for all attendees was that they had to come in some sort of costume (yes, even the officiant). The theme? "Choose your own adventure." We were not disappointed, and had an amazing time.

Travel through Tatooine, Middle Earth, Westeros & more at this pop culture travel-themed wedding (with April Fools pranks!)

Our geekdom runs deep and we're known to throw themed parties, so settling on a single fandom felt forced for an event of this magnitude. Instead, we decided to put a little bit of everything we love together for a truly unique experience. For a while, though, nothing fit together. Plus, we were annoyed by traditions that felt were “expected.” So, we identified what really mattered: bringing the people we love together and staying true to ourselves.

Then something clicked for our theme: inspired by a wall in our home covered in fictional maps. We chose a Pop Culture Travel theme!

Succulents, wishing trees, & a zither at this modern art gallery wedding

Joanne and Shandra’s brunch wedding at an art gallery was full of sweet and emotional moments, a ring dog, cultural touches, and adorable brunch bites. Their decor was a perfect match for the art gallery wedding, including a wishing tree, their answer to a guestbook where guests could hang handwritten cards with advice and well-wishes.

There were succulents, a zither(!), and a processional song for each lady (“Love Today” by MIKA for Shandra and the Rocky Theme Song for Joanne). Don’t miss the macarons that said “Happy Wedding” on them in three different languages!

Camp Evermore: an ethereal autumnal wedding adventure

Camp Evermore: an ethereal autumnal wedding adventure

From our initial planning, we had two big goals: a FUN wedding that demonstrated that LOVE is Love. We're from the Midwest and queer weddings are not the norm for our families, but we knew we wanted to plan an experience that was memorable and also helped normalize the beauty of all love. These two goals guided every detail of our autumnal wedding adventure planning.
