They're bowling pins, get it?

Melanie and Chris are awesome nerds to the core and held their wedding at The Sports Arena in Bangor, Maine. It had a bowling alley, an arcade, pool tables, and a tropical-themed bar. Their own personal touches included a Pac-Man cake and cookies, personalized "O.G.: Original Gamer" bowling shirts, Monopoly guest book, and a Princess Peach program.

They noshed on Pat's Pizza after their ceremony held right on the lanes. Instead of a first dance? A first air hockey game! Their photography, Justine Johnson, said, "I met with them several months before the wedding and I was immediately excited because they seemed like people I would hang out with: laid-back, funny, nerdy… the whole shebang." This retro-loving pair incorporated bowling, Vegas, rockabilly fashion, and photo op hijinks into their awesome two-part day. This included an intimate ceremony in Vegas, followed by a crazy bowling party in Dallas with a candy bar and the most adorable sundae-shaped flower centerpieces!

When I saw this wedding come through, it was a jumble of amazing words all up in my grill: lesbians, pirates, bowling, my home state! And once I saw the photos, I was LOVING it. A pirate ship cake cut with a sword, a Jenga guest book, and major costume participation all in a bowling alley means only the most fun evar.

The bride loves owls, purple, and polka dots, while the groom likes plaid. Clashing? Hell no! Put it all together in a retro bowling alley and the deal is sealed. Some science-inspired vows and a Thriller interlude capped off the ceremony. Check out this retro-inspired wedding in California.

If you couldn't already tell from their wedding invitation, this wedding is full of colors, fun and fabulous fashion. Oh, and as cool as their invitation outfits are, BOTH Seb and Julia wore something just as fabulous on their actual wedding day.
