A romantic O’ahu wedding with two grooms, a beachside ceremony, & jumping the “groomstick”

A beachside ceremony, ceremonial leis adorning killer fashion, and two grooms ready to make it official on the southern shore of the island of O’ahu. This is a wedding to savor. White, blue, and silver roses adorned the island venue that was made even more magical with perfect island weather. Devon and Ricky had romantic and funny vows that were set to a song rhyme. Finishing the ceremony with the jumping over the “groomstick” capped it all off with a little tradition. Don your beach hat and sunnies and bask in the bright day and even brighter love of these two grooms and their Hawaii wedding…

Cariona and Omorow first met when Cariona went down to Canouan (a small island in the Caribbean) for work. When planning their wedding, the couple knew that they wanted to get married down in the Caribbean where it all began. They decided on Bequia, a small island off of the main island, Saint Vincent. The couple was married on the oldest church on the island, St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Afterwards, everyone danced until the party was crashed (literally) at the end of the night, ending in a giant celebration and a spontaneous jump into the pool.

The day was characterized by opposites coming together: boho meets Ikea, with fun color details and a simple, modern look. The ceremony revolved around Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” and was written by Marta and Christine. Instead of a first dance, they led their their guests in a sing-along.

Turtles! Brunch! Dogs in ties! This rainbow lesbian wedding is all about furever love

Since Caitlin proposed to Kris with the tortoises at the Southwick Zoo, we included the turtles in all our little details including a custom logo designed by Caitlin/paper straws with turtle cutouts (save the sea turtles!), handknit turtle coffee sleeve favors which doubled as a seating chart by Caitlin’s grandmother Marcia, and even more turtle decorations.

Since it was a lesbian wedding, we of course had to include rainbows!

An intimate bucket list wedding planned in two weeks after a cancer diagnosis

My husband died seven months after our wedding. The most important lesson I learned from our wedding is that when it really comes down to it, your marriage is more important than your wedding.

What I want to share with other Offbeat Bride readers is that if you are lucky enough to have found someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with, the rest of details don’t really matter.
