Elegance meets dark romance at this Sydney goth chic wedding

Amy and Andrew planned their stunningly elegant goth chic wedding at Villa Capri in Sydney, New South Wales with the most gorgeous black lace gown, candles, red and white details, caramel corn favors, and loveliness everywhere. Amy was never a traditional person — she is covered in tattoos and white was never for her, so she chose elements from dresses she liked and worked with the designer to make her dream, modern black dress. Their wedding was styled by the amazing wedding stylist, Anna Wang, creating a palette full of blacks, reds, and orange-glow candles.

An eclectic rock ‘n’ roll burlesque extravaganza wedding

Jeb and I are an eclectic and creative couple — he makes candles and plays spoons, while I'm a burlesque dancer and costume milliner. Our wedding was very us: a mixture of extravagance and quirkiness where all of our talented friends were included. Our whole wedding was put together using my DIY skills (I made all the invites, programs, and decorations) and the talents of our friends and family.

Zara had two dresses made by a designer in Russia sight unseen and they turned out so well. Whatever you do, don’t miss the gorgeous filigree rose gold leaf heels by Ralph and Russo.

They also performed the Haka (a traditional Maori dance) for Inger to welcome her in to Ash’s family.

We're both (loveable) weirdos so we wanted our wedding to truly reflect who we were. My favourite highlights that I think achieved this were: my 5m maypole, our rock-paper-scissor vows, our pirate celebrant, the giant Soul Train dance line we had with all 200 guests coming down in pairs, our very silly first dance to Marvin Gaye's “Let's Get It On,” my dancing down the aisle to “Ain't No Mountain High Enough,” my four wardrobe changes, our gong for speeches, and so much more.
