Wedding porn: Wedding anklet

October 15th, 2008 · Posted by Ariel

In the past, I’ve answered advice questions from folks who are like “We don’t want to exchange rings! How do we do a ceremony without wedding rings?”

Well, here’s one more idea to consider: a wedding anklet.

I don’t know much about Russ & Daniela’s wedding other than what I could glean from the photos from Australian photographer Angelina Potapova … but from what I could see, it looks like my kinda shindig.

(Also, I’m a big fan of the bride’s embroidered dress.)

PS: Thanks to Monica for the heads-up on this one.

Bride profiles: Belinda & Stu’s Hot Pink & Black Wedding!

September 23rd, 2008 · Posted by Shrie, the offbeat intern

The offbeat bride: Belinda, Makeup Artist & Singer

Her offbeat partner: Stu, Manager & Singer

Location & date of wedding: Fitzroy Gardens Melbourne, Australia - April 19th, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Hot pink was a central color palette… my bridesmaids wore black with hot pink heels and my flowers were hot pink and blood red, fixed together with a thick black and white striped ribbon. The contrasting colours looked awesome! We also had bright orange and gold Chevy Impalas, complete with hydraulics!

Bride profiles: Maddie & Tim’s green Australian wedding

August 28th, 2008 · Posted by Ariel

The offbeat bride: Maddie - Graphic Designer

Her offbeat partner: Tim - Hydrogeologist

Location & date of wedding: Wedding: New Farm Park, Brisbane, Australia Reception: New Farm Lawn Bowls Club (across the road). 8th October 2005

What made our wedding offbeat: My husband and I dreamed up every aspect of the day so that when we remember back, it may not have been everyone’s idea of perfect but it was everything we could have ever wanted it to be. With very little cash and a whole lot of skilled friends pitching in their skills, this green coloured wedding and accompanying reception ‘on the green’ was a whole lot of fun!

OBT members George and Sebastian did it up right in Sydney this last weekend, getting married in the courtyard of the pub where Sebastian proposed.

The groom was in “the bastard child of a frock-coat” and as you can see, the bride was decked out in a flame-licked bright red dress she made herself, and adorable little cocktail hat.

Oh and of course they cut the cake with a machete. Hiiiyah!

I’ll probably have more on this wedding later, but for now you can peruse George & Sebastian’s flickrstream, and OBT members can check out George’s blog post.

PS: This isn’t the first flame-themed wedding dress on Offbeat Bride!

I was browsing around Flickr looking at quirky wedding photos tonight, I think this one is my favorite. I love Aussie Rebecca Mence’s outfit, from the tip of her top hat right down to the boots.
