I've been giving you tastes of little crocheted elements from OBT member Corinne's wedding planning updates — now it's time to get all the details from her actual wedding!

The Offbeat Bride: Corinne – Receptionist/Crafter

Her Offbeat Partner: Jesse – Kennel Technician/Dog Walker/Artist/Home Brewer/Haunted House Actor

Location & date of wedding: Jesse's brother's backyard in Wheat Ridge, CO — June 27, 2009

What made our wedding offbeat: Jesse and I don't like to be the center of attention, and since we've been together for ten years, we decided to make our wedding as much fun as possible and not so much about us but more about our families and friends.

The Offbeat Bride: Laura, scientist (and OBT member "2girls4PDX")

Her Offbeat Partner: Gosia, attorney

Location & date of wedding: Shakespeare Garden, Portland International Rose Test Garden, Portland, Oregon — 06.20.09

What made our wedding offbeat: Well, first we’re girlie-dress & makeup-loving gay ladies. We couldn’t agree who had to change her last name, so we played a Name Change Soccer Game the afternoon before the wedding with our guests, and the winner’s team got to pick our new last name. In a total upset, Laura (who is completely unathletic) and her team won, and she scored the winning goal. It served as a great icebreaker for everyone to get to know one another.

She crochets one…

Wow. OBT member Corinne is responsible for this amazing wedding creation (as well as the fabulous crocheted flower embellished bouquet from last week). This crocheted cake has all the beauty and drama of an offbeat wedding cake without all the expense and the possibility of cake in the face.

Her Offbeat Partner: Mikhail, Freelance Photographer

Location & date of wedding: St. Louis Renaissance Faire Park, St. Louis, MO — July 19, 2008

What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding cost us about $500 for about 60 people, but that's not all! We had our fairy tale dream wedding that really was like a fairy tale — complete with a couple fairies, some knights in shining… kimono, music from fantasy games and movies, a sermon about love in Klingon, costumed guests, a cake inspired by Lothlorien, food inspired by the Redwall books, and, of course, a big wooden pirate ship!

The offbeat bride: Obsidian, Secretary
Her offbeat partner: Wayne, Warehouse

Location & date of wedding: Royal Canadian Legion Hall Maple Leaf Branch No. 66 on October 14th, 2006 in Toronto, Ontario

What made our wedding offbeat: After knowing my hubby for about 13 years we finally up and decided to get hitched. So we got engaged with a 4 carat garnet ring that I chose, then got down the nitty gritty and planned a wedding for 10 months in the future.
