Destination couples: one of our fave NY photographers is now offering no travel fees (& big discounts!) in a lot of Europe!

New York and Europe-based wedding photographer Carole Cohen has been on our team for YEARS now. We just keep seeing fabulous offbeat weddings submitted from her super thrilled clients. But I've got even bigger news about our resident bi-continental photographer. Carole is booking weddings in Europe full-time now, which means she's giving big ol' discounts AND no travel fees in these areas: Paris, the French Riviera, London, and Edinburgh. Plus, you can still snag her services in New York (and vicinity) and all over Europe.

A black and gold kitties & karaoke wedding (with a cat "bouquet" and cat ears!)

We are not traditional people in the slightest, so we went with black and gold as our colors, and cats as our theme. I was bummed that we weren't able to bring our three kitties with us, so we made a large cardboard cutout of them so I could at least see them! Our favors were 'cat toys' that people waved as we left the ceremony. That was just the start of the fun. Don't miss the kitty ears on the bride and her amazing kitty "bouquet!"

A "crafternoon" wedding with painting, melted glass, and a rooftop ceremony

Our wedding was an all day event for all our family and friends. Our focus was art, making, adventure, and, of course, love. We planned a beautiful rooftop afternoon ceremony in Pilsen, at Lacuna Artists Lofts. This graffiti-filled, mixed use space was amazing and beautiful. It also got our small-town families out of the Loop. After the ceremony, we put all of our 100 guests onto chartered buses and took them to Lillstreet Art Center for four different art classes and snacks for a "crafternoon!"

Our jaws dropped when we saw this geek adventure wedding (on a budget!)

We had a geek adventure wedding theme, incorporating a few of our favorite things in every way we could (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, The Elder Scrolls, Dungeons & Dragons, The Princess Bride, Game of Thrones, Firefly, New World Magischola, and more). We encouraged everyone to come in costume (and most did! With props!), and we made wands as favors, as well as rheoscopic fluid potion bottles, dragon eggs, and all of the food (from our fandoms).

Channel the '90s with one of these stunning wedding chokers

Ever since the '90s galloped back into our fashion lives and brought with it platform shoes, overall dresses, and of course, choker necklaces, I've been rejoicing. Wedding chokers are one of my favorite accessories and there are TONS from which to choose these days. I scoured the internet to find a big selection for any budget. Seriously, any budget can find a necklace here. If you're looking for a delicate lace choker, a bling-y rhinestone cuff, or a dapper mini bow tie, you'll find one here.

This groom MADE his bride's surprise wedding dress

Adam, an art teacher and puppeteer, handmade his bride Maria's dress for her as a surprise, an impossible feat for most of us, let alone with such SKILL. We were blown away by the fab sleeves and high-low design. We were able to snag a little more information about it plus a behind-the-scenes look at the process just 15 days before the wedding. Bonus? She didn't even get to see the dress until noon on the day of the wedding. Wut. Let's take a peek at how it all went down…

23 totally non-boring masculine wedding bands

We've shown you LOTS of men's and masculine wedding bands before, but I'm bringing some new ideas to the table this time. I'm talking wood grains, rainbow-inlaid crystal, trillion-cut sapphires, animals sculpted into the metal, neon inner bands, brushed metal, the Bat Symbol, skulls, and DRAGON SCALE. It's a whole new batch of weird, wild, and totally non-boring masculine wedding bands to fill your dapper heart (or your groom's!) with pure, golden joy.

These out of this world galaxy purses are cosmic accessories or bridesmaid gifts

I cannot stop thinking of ways to gift these GORGEOUS handmade galaxy purses: for your bridesmaids, to hold instead of bouquets, to hold your makeup/lip gloss/tampons/whatever, your something blue(!).

They'd be perfect for a colorful wedding, sci-fi, space, or science-themed wedding, and any mystical theme. I pretty much just want to own all of them and think they'd make a lot of people flip their lids, so I'm sharing them.

Ride the rosé trend with these rosé signature cocktails

If you're excited that rosé is having its day in the sun then you're in my camp. I love a pretty pink and sweet drink. I'm a cliché, what can I say?

Let's be cliché together and add one of these pretty (and delicious!) rosé signature cocktails to our wedding drink repertoire, shall we?

This lovely & rainy Catskills wedding got flooded out but a last-minute venue switched saved it

Christine and Josh had planned a camping wedding, but on the day, it was pouring rain. Their campsite got flooded and they needed a plan B. Amazingly, a neighbor down the road heard about their wedding and offered their barn to them, if they didn't mind clearing it out. All their family and friends worked that morning to clean and decorate, and they even created log benches that morning. They made the best of the weather, handing out umbrellas, and ending the night by sending off fire lanterns. They had friends and family from all over the world, Lebanese food, doggos in a ties, and a REALLY gorgeous dress! Let's take a peek at this rainy Catskills wedding in New York…

Peacock feathers, a pirate band, and lobster wrestling at this Derbyshire wedding

Becky and Adam's steampunk-y wedding had all the trappings we love about steampunk AND some epic fashion including a lavender dress we crave by The Couture Company. On top of that, there's s pirate band, tug ‘o’ war, and lobster wrestling. Yep, you didn't misread any of that. It's all there and it's all fabulous. It all took place at The West Mill in Derbyshire, UK.

Don't miss the bride's steamy headpiece and the peacock feather details!

Don't want your period at the wedding? Try a period calculator to predict your dates

Those of us with periods, and specifically with fairly predictable ones, have one tiny advantage to picking a wedding date. There's a way to kinda-sorta predict when you might have your period around your wedding date. These period calculators are usually intended for predicting ovulation and fertility, but we can totally use them to pick a wedding date that will likely not be one of your period days.

How to create your bridal shop moment with your online bought dress

Here are my tips to create your bridal shop moment with your online purchased dress…

Give your guests "face time" with cardboard cut-outs of your gorgeous mugs

When you're determined that everyone at your wedding can get some real face time with you, employ the use of some fakes! Yep, we're talking cardboard cut-outs of your mugs for use in photos, on the dance floor, and just for general fun.

Brianne and Dale had big cut-outs of their faces looking hilariously stern that were passed around so that everyone could get a little one-on-one with the newlyweds.

This bride altered her original wedding gown for her gorgeous vow renewal

My husband, Anindeep, and I came to our tenth wedding anniversary very much different people than we were so long ago, now personally and emotionally more enriched. We decided a vow renewal was necessary to celebrate ourselves in this new chapter in realizing our individual selves and expressing our togetherness more meaningfully to each other.

Photography (duh) and fashion are priorities for me, so with NO attire budget and exponentially growing dressmaking skills, I suddenly found the confidence to alter my own wedding gown.
