Glittery shoes for your wedding (or whenever)

81Xren7n9gL. SL1500 alternative wedding ideas from Offbeat Wed (formerly Offbeat Bride)I am doing all I can to get as much light and sparkle and glitter into my life these dark days — and so this week, that means glittering shoes. These could be perfect for your wedding, or for your holiday parties, and think sparkly New Years Eve shoe goodness!

As always, I aimed for a range here — a range of prices, a range of heel heights, a range of style (well…sort of. It's always loud up in here) and a range of size availability. Toes crossed that you find something that makes your feet sparkle.

(And remember, if I didn't find the perfect glittery shoe for you, you can always DIY that shit!)

Comments on Glittery shoes for your wedding (or whenever)

  1. my glittery shoes are actually a pair of chuck lookalikes that are covered in black sequins. I picked them up in a street market in Naples, Italy and every time I wear them, they make me smile.

  2. These are gorgeous. They do, however, epitomise a complaint I have about shoe design: why is there no such thing as a medium heel? Seriously. Why is everything either 3 inches + or flat? I don’t want ballet pumps, I don’t like them, I just want something I can walk in.

This is why I have to wear boots all the time. Mmmmm, sexy boots. Not glittery though, sadly.

    • That’s the problem I always have too. I solved it by buying a pair of comfortable heels I could stand to wear (peep toe too!) that looked good then modge podged the crap out of them and dumped silver glitter all over them. They’ve held up to several wearings so far and I get compliments every time I wear them. People are shocked when I tell them I DIY’ed them.

      • That is most definitely a good idea. I do have a pair of white t-bars that could do with a revamp; if I sense an occasion appropriate they’ll be getting sparklificated.

    • I see at least a couple non-flat/mid-heel height options here: the sling back kitten heels and those boots.

      • I’d go for the boots if the heels weren’t spiky, though admittedly they wouldn’t look quite so good. I’m not heel-phobic, but very slender ones are just one more thing to worry about when I’m trying to have a good time. I am massively picky. Means I spend less on shoes though, so it’s not all bad!

    • Same here. I LOVE glittery shoes but they’re all so tall, and my fiance isn’t much taller than me. Plus I don’t want to trip and break my face. Will probably totally DIY some glitter shoes. 😀

  3. I love this post! I personally own three sets of glittery TOMS – I’m known for them at my office, lol. That’s partly why I was so excited about this when I saw the headline.
One big concern of mine though – y’all have sparkly gold Skechers Bobs linked to this post – which are a complete rip-off of the TOMS design and concept, offered at a slightly lower pricepoint. They do also give a pair of shoes away for each one purchased, but from what I’ve been reading, they have less transparency overall. They really are capitalizing on cause purchasers to try to make themselves look good. Might as well go with the people who originally did it, in my opinion.

  4. I LOVE the black and gold (last row far left) but the link doesnt work….who are they by?

  5. This is why I made my own rhinestone shoes! 6000 swarovski rhinestones 🙂 long live sparkle shoes!

  6. at my friends’ wedding she had the most adorable “Dorothy” reception shoes…red glitter, ….and therez no place like home! LOVE it. That blue is so purty.

  7. I would have sex with those Bordello shoes, but I could never wear them because my feet would kill me in my sleep for the injustices done to them. I just want to take pictures in them, is that weird?

  8. Dear Ariel,
Dammit, womman! I have never *EVER* lusted after shoes until I started reading YOUR shoe postings. Oh I glanced now and then, Pondered shoews for costumes, but now you’ve got me drooling in the aisles. You’re a wicked shoe-lust dealer is what you are.
    /rant.

  9. So in doing my own glitter shoe search I came across http://www.etsy.com/shop/norakaren I cannot afford a thing here, but I want all of it! I feel like this is a vendor who could earn a spot in almost every offbeat shoe post; the glitter, the peacocks, the rockabilly. There’s even (at least) one pair of boots!

  10. Woohoo! I bought the Wowie Zowie heel at the top back in March for my January Wedding. They are way more comfortable than they look and I cannot wait to wear them! They are a little more hot pink in person than blue but I just adore them.

  11. Story time. I found a glittery dream on clearance for thirty freaking dollars. Take a ballerina and a raver and it would be like their lovechild in shoe form. I wanted to buy them so badly, but they were a size too big and too dangerous to walk in. 🙁 These shoes make me feel better.

  12. I fell in love with how comfortable the shoes i found are. Then I bought a jar of glitter and Glinda-fied those suckers.

  13. Awesome! I never thought myself one for glittery shoes, but I found cheap gold sparkly ballet flats last week.

  14. I already have my fabulous bedazzled shoes…but I’m totally eyeing off those blue/pink concoctions in the middle for my bridesmades…

  15. Confession: upon reading this post, I immediately decided that I wanted gold glitter shoes.

I have subsequently purchased said shoes, and couldn’t be more thrilled. Now seems to be the time, as holiday parties seem to lend themselves to glittery shoes.

    These are them: http://www.myspringshoes.com/ca-eng/women/shoes/mid-low-heels/83141510-floharm/86

The heel is 3.25 but they aren’t platform, so I find them easy to walk in. Also they are synthetic and therefore vegan! Double win! The price here is $45 but I got mine for $25 (Canadian). There are also matching flats which I am thinking of getting in case I get tired of heels halfway through the night… I may get the flats in fushia! They’re listed as $20 but I saw them in the store for $15.

  16. If any Australian is reading, of all places Payless Shoes currently have heaps and heaps of glittery stilettos and wedges for a very reasonable price (under $60AUS a pair)

  17. I’ve given up finding the perfect shoe (been looking for nine months, have bought three pairs that are “meh”, and have decided to DIY my own using a sacrificial pair of my favorite pair of pre-wedding planning shoes. Any advice from my cyber-sisters???
