Funky cake stands and dessert displays that'll make your noms look like art! #Food Porn#Stuff we love#cake#decor May 27 | Megan Finley Horowitz meggyfin Last week I showed y'all some fun cake cutting knives. This week I thought I'd show you some cake and dessert displays. Inspired by my weird cupcake display, I thought I'd bring some wacky, weird, and wonderful cake stands and displays, perfect for showcasing your yummy wedding desserts. Keep reading for more cake display options… Let's start with this amazing set of three black iron cake stands. I'm thinking this would be an amazing feature at goth weddings, Victorian weddings, and black tie events. Whatever wedding these get used for, I just want to see them getting used! So amazing. Ooh, it also comes in white and round! I know that, technically, this is a cake decorating stand. BUT with its tempered glass base and modern aesthetics, I think this thing would make a cool wedding cake stand. Bonus: It rotates 360º on ball bearings, so there's easy access to any section come cake cutting time. What!? Floating space cake FTW! They also have a floating hearts in space design. Either way, floating cakes are awesome and it's a proven fact that things taste better when they're floating. 😉 I like this three-tier tray. Good for mini desserts. Ooh, or cool oblong wedding cakes! Related Post 24-carat style: this gold wedding decor is the real deal If there's one trend in home decor AND in weddings that I'm seriously digging, it's gold details. I just... love gooooold. What, I can't pull... Read more Here's a more modern-looking display. I like the really clean lines of this one. This is just a cheapy cardboard cake stand, but as far as cardboard displays go, this one is really colorful and fun AND comes with a silly plastic cake server. If you're just doing one or a few small cakes, or even cupcake displays, this would be an affordable way to add some more character to your display. This Parisian ceramic cake plate is simple, colorful, and gorgeous. I LOVE asymmetrical dessert displays! This three-tiered cake stand with chrome and glass is one of my aboslute favorites. With three different cakes, or with loads of cupcakes, this is going to make quite a statement at your wedding. You may recognize these melamine beauties from my cake knife roundup, but they also have matching cake stands! Squee! Am I crazy for loving all of these French Bull melamine cake stands together? So perfect for a colorful wedding. Matfer Bourgeat, maker of professional bakery equipment and tools, brings us this seven tiered cake display of wonderment. Apparently the tier positioning makes for a good center of gravity or something, I just think it looks freaking cool. This cake stand and knife combo from Nambe is best for smaller cakes, clearly. But it's also undeniably sexy. Here's another asymmetrical tiered dessert display made of white plastic. I want to eat all those cakes. Etsy seller NoTengoMiedo Clay has some incredible cake stands, including this skull-adorned baby and even one for you Portal fans. These Savoie glass round cake stands are small, so you just might have to buy all of them! Which is awesome, because all the wonderful colors that these cake stands come in are so much fun. Wonky display is wonky! It's also made out of unbreakable plastic — unbreakable, like your lurve. This one is so cool it should be featured on Offbeat Home as well. It could be your rad throw-back to to mid-century dessert display at your wedding and then be used at your mid-century modern home just as easily. Speaking of mid-century modern, I'm a HUGE fan of anything Jadite. So of course I'm obsessing over this Jadeite cake stand. Reply THANKS! Man, I tell you, it's a labor of LOVE! 🙂 Reply Ok I want to make sure I'm doing this right. When you click on an amazon.com item, OBE gets a cut, regardless of what you actually purchase. That much I understand. But what if you don't add anything to your cart; just purchase what's already in your cart. Do you need to add something in order for OBE to get the cut? I like to dump things into my amazon.com cart and then buy them later. I wait until I have a nice big order ( and, um, the cash to go with it ). But will all of that count for OBE? Reply Ooh, you know… I think that if you already had stuff in your cart, then the Empire probably won't see any dough from those previous items. BUT, I think if you click on an item from the Empire and then add it to your cart and THEN purchase it later (as in gathering stuff up from the Empire links) then we would get to see some funding. But lemme just take the time to say THANK YOU for even caring/thinking about your contributions. That's so awesome. Heart warming even. 🙂 Reply I was thinking about this the other day… can we get some sort of FAQ on how to best shop these links? I'm always afraid I'm gorn do it wrong. These and the shoe porn posts always stump me. It could maybe be a page somewhere that you guys could append as a link at the end of the article for those of us who has a confuse. Reply Ok so what I really need to do is: 1) Take a snapshot of my cart and empty it out 2) Click on an amazon.com link from OBE 3) Put stuff back in my cart Also, to be clear – the link I click on should be on the sidebar ( i.e. a sponsored link ) and not necessarily a link within a post ( like Megan's finds or Ariel's lovely shoes ). Don't get me wrong — I also buy things from sponsors! I just want to understand how the whole thing works. Reply Since you asked, here's more than you ever wanted to know: Sponsored links in the sidebar are advertisements, meaning that the businesses have paid a set amount money to have their company linked for a set amount of time. While purchasing from sponsors is the best way to support Offbeat Bride and the businesses that keep us online, purchases do not directly profit us. Links in shopping posts are affiliate links, meaning that the businesses have paid NOTHING for placement, but we get a small portion (usually 5-10%) of purchases made after the links have been clicked. This includes purchasing the products we feature OR purchasing anything else from the site linked (ie, you click a cake-stand, but then remember you've been meaning to buy the Adele album). I know Megan has had the experience of making $100 from a reader buying furniture on Amazon after clicking an unrelated product link here on Offbeat Bride. In terms of getting more specific than that, it totally depends on each affiliate's rules, ie Amazon has one set of rules for how their affiliate program works, and Zappos has a whole different set of rules. Honestly, I barely understand super-specifics about it … they're complex and involve cookies and percentage scales and yadda yadda. Mostly, I just appreciate anyone caring at all!! 😀 Reply Ok so I had it exactly backwards! LOL. Click on the amazon.com links in the *post* – got it. I'm focusing on amazon.com because I do the most shopping there. But I understand what you mean by affiliates having their own rules. I won't worry my pretty little head about all those. Thanks, Ariel and Megan, for taking the time to answer my questions! Ooooooo! It's not in my budget to purchase anything outright for our cupcakes, but I have to come up with some kind of tower/display for them. I hadn't found anything online that I was quite happy with yet, but these babies offer some serious inspiration! THANKS! I think my future hubby-do and I could definitely re-create that 7 tiered cupcake stand and make it look AWESOME. Reply I have seen alot of these on ebay.com and Love to get something very different.. all of the pictured ones here looks great to me not just for weddings but many partys ideas. Reply We are having a dessert reception and I have been buying and making all kinds of cake stands for stuff to go on! There are some awesome ones in this roundup. I just made a whole bunch out of thrift store plates and teacups that I glued together for a sweet vintage look. Reply These are so cool ! Thanks!I can share these ideas with Brides who use my DIY Wedding cake book/video. DIY Brides, you rock !! Reply Hi I want to know how to purchase the cake decorating stand. The one that's glass stainless and it rotates. Thanks. Joann Reply Hey Jo, you could either click on the photo, click on the hyperlink in the text, or click here: Pedestal Glass Cake Stand Reply I'm surprised to not see a wood round for a cake stand – but maybe that's not really classified as funky. I am looking for a natural wood round with bark, same thickness as each layer of cake and about 24" in diameter. Hard to find at an affordable price… Reply Just FYI I have that rectangular glass and swirly legged sled looking dealy. It's not the most sturdy thing. It's VERY pretty though. A lot of times I just end up using the glass trays without the stand. Reply Join the conversation Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.
