When I was weeding through pictures of hair fascinators for my bridesmaids, I was totally in awe of how beautiful some of them were. After goofing off with my now husband in a craft store, I had a light bulb moment that I could make my own feather hair pieces. These were seriously easy to make. We were inspired by this post on Craftster to make a Companion Cube card box. And then we found the basis for our templates (to which we made some crucial modifications) over here. But we had to make a bunch of mods to make these work the way we wanted them to, and it was kind of terrifically complex. So I figured in case anyone else wanted to give this a try, I'd post what we did to help ease the process for y'all. So here goes…

It is completely possible to buy a pattern to make a corset for yourself, but if you have non-standard measurements, there is a decent chance that the pattern will require a high amount of alteration anyway. So why not just make a completely custom pattern, fitted exactly to you, with duct tape? I did and it has been awesome!
I made my own DIY shotgun shell boutonnieres! Basically what I did was hot glued a bunch of feathers on top of each other and shoved them down into the shells. Then I stuck the flowers into the shells in front. Easy and awesome!
