A Nigerian-American carnival themed wedding (with Six Flags post-party!)

John and I love theme parks, especially Disney World, so I had the idea to have a carnival themed wedding. I initially wanted to incorporate carnival rides, but given our guest list size (about 250 people invited), we had to be more space conscious, so we opted for a wedding weekend that included a trip to the area theme park (Six Flags) in our wedding attire.

A fantasy-inspired wedding with influences of military travels

Brenna and Alexander had a gorgeous fantasy and Game of Thrones-inspired wedding with extra inspiration from their military travels, especially to China. The New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden was the background for their ceremony where Alexander recited a poem he’d wrote especially for Brenna.

You could see the influence of things they love: traveling adventures, Game of Thrones, the color purple, and their two dogs/ring bearers (in bow ties!).

Grab a slice with these lovebirds at their NYC pizza party wedding

New Yorkers Rebecca and Jeff were both looking for a wedding that was low-key, romantic, and fun. This turned into one of our favorite kinds of weddings: an intimate ceremony at City Hall, a pit stop at the bride’s mother’s home for a champagne toast and cuddle with their dog, and on over to their neighborhood slice joint. They ate pepperoni pie at the legendary Joe’s on Bleecker Street, complete with “cake” topper, of course. They finished off the day by carving their names for eternity into the wooden booth with a butter knife (a 100% restaurant-sanctioned activity). This was way more than just a pizza party. You’ll want to see it…

Find your favorite fandom in this sci-fi and fantasy wedding in Maryland

After nearly a decade together, Judy and Phil tied the knot at their alma mater of St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The two originally couldn’t decide on a theme, but man did they pick a good one in the end. They love a ton of fantasy/science fiction franchises, so it only made sense to call upon the powers of The One Ring, The Force, and The Ministry of Magic to get the job done. Just wait until you see their fandom-themed centerpieces and references to pop culture touchstones everywhere. Oh, and when elf ears are involved, I’m so in. Let’s see all the magic unfold…

This lovely & rainy Catskills wedding got flooded out but a last-minute venue switched saved it

Christine and Josh had planned a camping wedding, but on the day, it was pouring rain. Their campsite got flooded and they needed a plan B. Amazingly, a neighbor down the road heard about their wedding and offered their barn to them, if they didn’t mind clearing it out. All their family and friends worked that morning to clean and decorate, and they even created log benches that morning. They made the best of the weather, handing out umbrellas, and ending the night by sending off fire lanterns. They had friends and family from all over the world, Lebanese food, doggos in a ties, and a REALLY gorgeous dress! Let’s take a peek at this rainy Catskills wedding in New York…

Margaret and Henry met and fell in love while at trapeze circus school. You know what this means: trapeze and circus-style performances abounded! Their circus family was included in trapeze acts, tightrope, acrobatics, and a marching band. They even got a few trapeze photos in their wedding finery.
