Let's remember the beauty of fall at this laid-back Adirondack wedding

Let’s remember the beauty of fall at this laid-back Adirondack wedding

We knew we wanted it to be in the fall, outdoors, and on my grandparent's property, overlooking the lake that I have been going to since I was born, as well as my mother when she was a kid. It's practically our second home and is the only place I ever imagined getting married.

This “Blasian Invasion” wedding channeled films, diversity, and classic NYC

Blasian Invasion! We looked at this as a celebration of the union of our incredibly diverse community. My family is Afroperuvian and my husband is Filipino. Our heritage is very important to both of us, as well as our need for artistic creativity and expression. We wanted to celebrate in our home city, NYC, a place that really embodies these qualities.

A 1950s-inspired rustic vintage craft beer wedding

A 1950s-inspired rustic vintage craft beer wedding

I love ’50s-inspired everything so my dress was tea-length and my makeup was more of a pin-up look with a birdcage veil and victory roll. We also really looked for an off-the-beaten-path location in New Jersey, which is not so easy! We settled on the Prallsville Mills in Stockton, NJ which is an old grist mill. Our ceremony was in the saw mill. We are also huge craft beer fans, so our tables were covered with hop leaves and our centerpieces were our own personal growlers. I tried to do a lot of DIY with decorating the pallets and using old windows for signs and the seating arrangement.

A little Disney & a lot of creative details at this Disney New Jersey wedding

A little Disney & a lot of creative details at this Disney-inspired New Jersey wedding

Arielle and Bryan are both established actors who have major creative streaks and a love for Disney. Arielle actually crafted her own dress and made her flower arrangement and reception decor, including the amazing Disney-themed display that will blow your mind. Best part? They held the ceremony in the same church in which Arielle’s parents were married! So sweet.

The reception had a casual vibe with no announcements, coloring pages for children (Disney-themed, natch!), a song written and sung by Arielle’s brother(!), and tons of dancing. You’ll want to see the final lift at the end…

Wristbands, fireworks, lasers, & glow sticks at this musical festival inspired wedding

Wristbands, fireworks, lasers, & glow sticks at this musical fest inspired wedding

Rachel and Rob love music festivals and wanted their wedding to reflect that passion with festival wristbands, a glitter and glow stick bar, a bonfire, fireworks, multiple music acts, lasers, and live art. They hosted it at all at Stone Tavern Farm in Roxbury, NY with the ceremony in the glowing field beneath a tree. Don’t miss the hot dog-costumed toast, a glitter and glow station, a live painting being created during the wedding, and a surprise fireworks display followed by an after party with live music performed by Space Bacon and an accompanying laser show. Here’s what Rachel had to say about it all…

Two brides had the sweetest DIY farm wedding you’ll have seen yet

B + Liz are a rad couple who totally rocked an amazing, simple, and sweet-as-hell DIY farm wedding in Maryland. Every part of their day was filled with love and made to include everyone.

Check out this awesomeness. They got ready quietly together on the farm owned by a family friend. They had friends contribute to a collaborative playlist of music. And Liz’s mom baked EVERY ONE of those cupcakes. It was truly a community effort backed by a whole lot of love. Don’t miss Liz’s retro-styled pink hair, sweet sequined gown, B’s KILLER suit, and the farm animals grazing all around…
