So, part of the fun of having events at Urban Light Studios They ♥ OBB; we ♥ them is that fact that they have a built-in photo booth. I know, right!? The Offbeat Empire staff decided to warm things up, and then the rest of the night was open to whatever kind of silliness ensued. That silliness includes the ladies of the Empire in various amazing hair-do's, some of the ladies of Wheadonesque Burlesque in a sexy poses, lightsaber-wielding guests, former intern Offbeat Coco wearing MY corset, some sweet kissies, and a very (unintentionally, we swear!) kind of kinky cupcake three-way between yours truly and the Managing Editors of Offbeat Mama and Home.

A month ago, I wasn't sure this party was going to happen, but thanks to Kelli from Shindig Events They ♥ OBB; we ♥ them , the Offbeat Empire party was not only saved — it was ROCKED THE FUCK OUT.

So! This weekend was the Offbeat Empire panel at Geek Girl Con. Wondering what we talked about? Wondering who's BFFs with a Stormtrooper? Wondering who had an epic life-lesson metaphor about bunny hats? Curious about who lists "going open source" as the smartest geeky decision they ever made?! CLICKY!

After months of preparation, this is the weekend I have been waiting for! A solid chunk of my Offbeat Empire staffers are flying in from all over the country today (Superman, Caroline, Little Red Lupine, Tribe mods and K-Redd: you'll be missed!) so that we can all dork out hard at Geek Girl Con this weekend.

Then there's that whole little thing with the Offbeat Empire reception that's happening tonight at Urban Light Studios. YOU GUYS. I don't even know what to say about it! Other than book readings (which don't quite count) this is the first Event with a capitol E that I've ever done, and thanks to Kelli from Shindig Events, it's been a freaking blast.

Holy shit! It's September and that means Geek Girl Con and our big Offbeat Empire party with Shindig Events at Urban Light Studios are only a month away. Will we see you in Seattle, October 7th, 8th, and 9th!? HMMM?

So remember how I mentioned that the Offbeat Empire would be doing a panel at the Geek Girl Con in Seattle this October? Since the last time we've talked, there have been some exciting developments, you're going to be verrrrry excited…

People, I've got some SUPER exciting news to share today: the entire staff of the Offbeat Empire will be convening in Seattle this fall to present a panel at the Geek Girl Con, a weekend-long event October 8-9, 2011.

Y'all know Ang — she's the Community Manager of the Offbeat Bride Tribe, and if anyone knows conflict resolution, it's her. And now she's offering a FREE conflict resolution tele-class on March 12, 2011.
