Alisha and Lucas wanted to get married on Leap Day just five weeks before booking their wedding planners, Cristen & Co.. It was all going to go down at the chic Warehouse XI in Somerville, Massachusetts.

This pair met in Japan on study abroad, so they celebrated their love with a brunch wedding influenced by Wabi-sabi. It was calming, simple, natural, and perfectly imperfect. Their closest friends and families flew in from all over to celebrate. Oh! And whatever you do, do not miss the waffle cake!

Shall we see this short engagement turned fab wedding?

  1. I love everything about this wedding, especially the dress Рbut how is it ombr̩?

    • Hi there!! I’m thrilled you loved Alisha and Lucas’ Wedding! We loved planning and designing such a unique concept! Her dress was handmade by a designer, Maria Lucia Squillari of Larime Loom in Italy. She hand-dyed/dipped the bottom of the dress in organic yellow materials to create a slight ombré look to the bottom of the gown.

  2. This is so gorgeous. I’m amazed they pulled it off so quick! Can you tell us more about the “thank you”s under the bell jars? About his suit? About the budget?

    • Hi Arielle!! Thank you so much for your kind words! When they approached me about the idea of getting married in 5 weeks, I said Heck YES! Let’s do it and we did!! So it can be done. It certainly was one of our favorite weddings we planned and design for this happy couple! The favors that were in the bell jars were actually bags of bath salts for relaxation since we were all about the Wabi Sabi aesthetic, we wanted something to coincide with the Wabi Sabi lifestyle – peace, tranquility & balance. His suit was navy blue velvet with black accents, I am unsure where he purchased it from, he handled those details. This couple had a very small wedding and since planned in such a short period of time their had to be some flexibility with budget. They didn’t need certain aspects since it was also a brunch wedding. Due to confidentiality of my client, I can give you a range of what a wedding like this would typically cost for about 50 – 75 guests and not disclose what they specifically spent on it in terms of vendors $15,000 – $30,000.
