Dancing down the aisle

Posted by

As a rule, I avoid posting wedding memes that are making the rounds elsewhere (this video was on CNN and the couple appeared on Good Morning America and the Today Show, for goodness sake!), but I've received so many dozens of emails about this that I don't think I have any choice.

So I'll wave my little white editorial standards flag in surrender and just say, for those of you who may have missed this elsewhere, here's Jill & Kevin's wonderful dancing wedding entrance video:

If you like people dancing down the aisle, make sure you check out Myshell & Hannibal's wedding, which included TONS of dancing.

  1. Well, I don't read any other wedding blogs, so this is probably the only chance I'd have had to see this. I'm very glad you posted it.

  2. Thank you for posting this! I don't go to many sites, either so I might have missed this. Watching this was so uplifting and exciting!

    • Yes!!! I just balled my eyes out ….the perfect soul mate dance song and everyone got to see the pure joy of 2 hearts through dancing…nothing more than perfect!!

  3. Love it! I would definitely do something like that. Weddings should be about expressing joy and festivity instead of being somber and serious all the time, and this couple and their friends and families certainly have that figured out.

  4. this just gave me such a good idea I want to do something like this I lovvveee itttt 🙂

  5. Made. Of. Awesome!!! I'm doing something similar, but it will be a wee bit smaller. Thank you, though, for posting it, 'cause this is also the only wedding blog that I read – and I doubt I would have come across it otherwise. It definitely made my night! 🙂

  6. let me just say that I was truly lol-touched by this.. by the time the bride actually came down.. my heart was all in it.. great idea guys!

  7. SUPER – AWESOMENESS!!! Ariel – you you're my main wedding news source (and I see I'm not alone)….thanks so much for waving the white flag – it was well worth it. I need to go dance now. =)

  8. I love this, but I came back to OBB to find the African American dancing wedding party that was posted on here….last year? Black and pink were the colors? And everyone had their own song as they entered the room? Not to start a "wedding dance battle" up in here, but seeing the above video everywhere made me want to find this other one like right now. 🙂 I'll keep searching the site— love it so much!

    • That's Hannibal & MyShell's video, which I linked in this post. Scroll back and up and look for the link under the video. Or scroll down and look for it under Related posts in the footer.

  9. Such a fun idea! But the bride in me is saying, "where did they get those bridesmaids dresses? I need to show this to my ladies!" (;

  10. When the groom walked over to the bride and gave her his arm I thought "awww" , that was funny and sweet and you could tell they are all close.

    • on the youtube video page the bride says "Our wedding entrance dance to Forever…yeah, forever." I'm assuming she's all "yeah, forever" because the song is by Chris Brown.

    • Personally, I think that dude (who appears to be the best man?) choreographed the whole thing! He's clearly the most skilled dancer and also the most into it. Love him!

  11. For all you people wondering what the song is it's Forever by chris brown. I loved this!! It's adorable and a wonderful and unique way to express your love!! 🙂

  12. I didn't seen until, like, 15 minutes ago and was going to immediately email y'all about it! Ha ha! I do love this, however, and congrats to the mystery couple, "Jill" and "Kevin"!!

  13. I need to acknowledge the two guys at 1:45. There aren't enough words in the dictionary for that level of magnificence.

  14. thank you so much for posting it, I had not seen it b4. Loved it… So daring somehow, lively and fun 🙂

  15. I'm so glad you posted this Ariel, I'm in Australia, so it hasn't been on any tv here yet, and offbeat bride is the only any sort of blog i follow.

And i'm glad i'm not the only one who had a bit of a cry over it… somersulting grooms for the win!

  16. I really like Myshell & Hannibal's.

This is a wedding toast but it is AMAZING!!! You have to check it out.

  17. I didn't see a date for when this wedding took place, but will hazard a guess that it was fairly recent. Soo….Chris Brown? Really? Really??

  18. omg this was the 1st time i seen this and i absolutely llloooovvveee it….i honestly started crying n laughing at the same time. Thanks for sharing such an unforgetable moment with the rest of the world

  19. I thought this video was awesome and the people involved were so fun-spirited it truly made the viewers excited to watch. Although now future wedding parties that do something like this may be received with copy-cat comments-which is a bit disappointing for others who planned to do something like this only now to be following some internet meme fad.

  20. I LOVE this. It's so fun and fantastic and gets everyone in the perfect mood. It's the perfect ice breaker and lets everyone have a ton of fun.
