Brunch weddings have a LOT of perks: cheaper rates at venues, lots of daytime fun for lawn games and getting everyone home early, breakfast foods (the best meal of the day!), and of course… MORNING COCKTAILS! Brunch is bomb, you guys.

Here are some delicious brunch wedding ideas including topping bars, waffle cakes, and coffee cocktails. Let's talk making brunch bananas.

Find a rad morning signature cocktail

Brunch provides a totally legit way to have some booze prior to 5pm. Just add some orange juice, tomato juice, peach nectar, coffee… apparently adding morning liquids makes it all goooood. We're thinking Bellinis (peach nectar and sparkling wine), Mimosas (OJ and sparkling wine), Bloody Marys, and all kinds of coffee cocktails.

We've got a delish Irish coffee signature cocktail recipe to share:

Dublin coffee recipe

8 oz freshly brewed Green Mountain Coffee
1 ounce Irish whiskey
1 ounce stout
¾ ounce simple syrup
Whipped cream
Cinnamon for garnish

Mix coffee, stout, whiskey, and simple syrup in a large mug. Dollop with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon to serve.

Rad ideas for a wedding coffee bar

Offer up a yummy coffee bar

Providing fresh, individual cups o' joe is the BEST way to maintain order at a morning wedding. You never know how late guests may have been up the night before. And since we just talked about that Dublin coffee above, it's right up our alley.

Single-serve K-Cup® Pods (such as from our sponsor, Keurig®) allow you to provide super fast cups of freshly brewed coffee, tea, or hot cocoa on demand. The Keurig® K575 (pictured here) also comes with an extra-large color touch screen making it easy for guests to brew the perfect cup. Keurig brewers fit any size beverage bar and color palette.

Just provide the Keurig® brewer, the K-Cup® pods, and cups and you're almost there. Then you'll need a few yummy toppings and fixins', which you'll find here:

A donut cake!

If a waffle cake is a little ambitious, there's nothing like a big ol' stack of donuts to make breakfast pastries super easy with a really pretty display. Stack them high or have various flavors on smaller displays. Either way, they'll be devoured in no time.

Go Southern-style with a biscuit bar

A Southern-style biscuit bar with cold cuts, honey, jam, cream, and other yummy toppings may be just what the doctored ordered for hungry guests. It's the perfect canvas to cross over from breakfast to lunch items.

Please the kid in everyone with a cereal bar

Large apothecary jars or big Mason jars make pretty much anything look classy, including fun and colorful cereal. Pair a few cereals with a chilled jug of milk (and maybe a non-dairy milk for allergy reasons, too), some packets of sweetener, some fruit toppings if you're feeling ambitious, and of course the spoons and bowls, and you're ready for Saturday morning cartoons AND your super fun brunch wedding!

Instead of a mashed potato bar, have a GRITS BAR

Mashed taters are always a welcome sight at a wedding and are popular with good reason, but a grits bar gives it a cool morning twist. You can provide savory toppings, sweet toppings, or both. This site has a great overview for planning a savory grits feast including toppings like bacon, caramelized onions, various cheeses, peppers, tomatoes, butter, and more.

Maple Belgian waffle cake via Sprinkle Bakes

Try a Belgian waffle cake

Waffles are good. Cake is gooder. A Belgian waffle cake is definitely GOODEST. Yep, good enough to make up a word. Ask your caterer or baker if they can work up a tall and pretty waffle stack cake like the one above. You could even DIY it if you give it a practice run.

Comments on These delicious brunch wedding ideas will make you a morning person

    • Just what I was thinking! Maybe stick to freshly-brewed coffee and tea the old-fashioned way – not as fancy, but so much better for the environment (and cheaper).

  1. Great post..cake looks so delicious.. Great information for those who are looking for wedding menu ideas and these are cost effective also…Great job! Thanks for sharing.

  2. As was stated above, I understand that this post was sponsored by Keurig, but we’re all aware of the environmental impact caused by our collective obsession with one time use disposable products. Why not consider a cute samovar for tea and a few thermoses of coffee?

  3. I loved the ideas of a belgian waffle cake and the newspaper programs! I agree with the previous comments of a more environmentally friendly coffee bar for guests. Also, I am one of the few people who absolutely hate coffee so I’d likely have more of a hot chocolate and tea bar.
