Family wedding
Photos by Mandy Fierens Photography

Kristin and Jon celebrated El Dia de los Muertos a bit early last year on a rainy day in late October. The couple got married at the Round Corner Cantina in Pennsylvania, surrounded by little cacti in pots, tiny skulls, and a particularly spooky cake. Most of these details you'll see in the photos are El Dia de los Muertos or Mexican artifacts that Kristin and Jon already had in their home.

Both Kristin and Jon had been married before, so this small, relatively informal celebration wrapped up a few key wishes: one venue that had everything from drinks to food (hello, taco bar adaptable to dietary restrictions); a colored dress (Kristin's bright red dress is UHmazing); and Kristin's son walked her down the aisle. Awwwwwww!

Comments on A Dia de los Muertos wedding for the whole family

  1. I am planning our wedding for next November 2015 and it will be the same theme but it is so hard to find vendors in the Chicago area who can relate to my vision. If you have any advice I would be grateful.

    • We didn’t talk to any wedding people that’s how! We just told everyone we were having a party and made them drag the W word out of us if they really insisted. You just have to sneak in the ceremony and whatnot after they are already on board 😉

  2. I look through so many of these weddings and love them all of course, but never felt compelled to leave a comment! LOVE this wedding! The dress is classy and so flattering, best red wedding dress I’ve seen. Loved the traditional happy dia colors, great job! Congrats!!

  3. Beautiful authentic touches – and that necklace is everything!!! Any ideas where it came from??

    Are you sure?

  4. Thank you Jon for replying but my family already knows. To be quite honest we are a very big one news travels fast. We are expecting minimum of 250 people and that is mostly family. The funny thing is I know plenty of artists so I guess I will start there . Congratulations to you and your beautiful wife.
