AnnouncingLovesickAttention 2014 couples! You may remember our announcement a couple months back, but for those of you who don't know, we've teamed up with The Lovesick Expo to feature an elite array of local talent and unique wedding ideas appealing to indie-minded couples. Lovesick Expos are amazing — guy-friendly, same-sex-friendly and actually really fucking fun. (How fun? Read this: I went to an alt-wedding expo, and lived to tell the tale.)

Today we're finally ready to announce all the dates and cities for the 2014 Lovesick Expos! Are we going to mingle with you (…or work with you?) at any one of these sweet-ass events?

You guys, we are so freaking excited about these shows. We'll have at least one Offbeat Empire staffer in attendance at every show, probably get over-excited and clapping and squealing over meeting all y'all.

So, how can you get involved?

  • Vendors: Lovesick is currently looking for the best talent in your city for this local, creative, eco-friendy, guy-friendly, and same-sex friendly showcase of the real people behind the best weddings! Email Lovesick for an application.
  • Offbeat couples: Tickets go on sale August 1st. We're counting the days.

Ok, so which Lovesick Expo will we see you at next year?

  2. This is great!!
Not in the market for anything wedding related at the moment but excited that someone from the empire is coming to NY :)
Maybe I'll have to drive down to Brooklyn for a little meet up!

  3. Can I just say, thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for putting the San Francisco one on a Sunday instead of a Saturday? Seriously rocking my world for that. As an observant Jew, it seems like sometimes I can't go to anything, since it's always on Saturdays/Shabbat (when it's something awesome like a neighborhood stroll with shops having discounts, or live music parties, or stuff involving commercial spaces/buying…). So thanks. I'll be there, psyched for my Aug 2014 wedding.

  4. Philly!!!! March 2014 wedding here I come! yay!

  5. Any chance of you hitting the midwest? Maybe Chicago?

    • I know the Lovesick Expo guys carefully considered Chicago for this year… let's keep our fingers crossed that they'll do a show there for 2015. We've got Offbeat Bride staff there, so we'd love to see a show in Chicago!

  6. Soooo excited for Boston! Gives us time to become officially engaged, too ;)

  7. I would love to attend one of these when I decide to marry but I'm no where near those. Would love to see you guys in Nashville!

  8. I'm so thrilled that World Cafe Live is hosting the expo in Philly. I swore off bridal expos after being really underwhelmed and grossed out by the vendors, but I think this is a good exception.

  9. Boston Boston Boston Boston Boston!!!!! Finally, a wedding expo I want to attend!!!!

  10. Sad to see there's nothing in the south. Would they consider Miami or Orlando for the future?

    1 agrees
  11. I'm have a booth at Seattle, which will be my first wedding show as me and not as an assistant for someone else (and that was at 3 somewhat scarring years at the GINORMOUS very wedding-industrial-complex Seattle Wedding Show) so I am both excited and terrified.

  12. Any chance on coming to Canada with the 2015 run?

  13. OMG I bought my tickets I'm so nervous and excited! First wedding expo and I'd never go to one that wasn't paired up with OffBeat Bride because the on I went o as a bridesmaid was awful. I'm also not officially engaged so I feel like I'm jinxing it by going but…. keeping my fingers crossed during the purchase negates that right? ;)

  14. Just bought tickets for my self and my mother & sister-in-law! Helloooo stocking stuffers!
