Dinosaur wedding decor

Weddings, uh, find a way: dinosaur wedding details for all you clever girls

Our nerdy science couples have always been down for dinosaur weddings and the dinosaur wedding details that accompany them. From dino jewelry and shoes to Stegosaurus hair to fossil-strewn wedding venues, these weddings are from another time. A long, long ago time!

Let’s go digging for inspirational artifacts from some of our very favorite dinosaur-themed weddings…

Miss L Fire wedding shoes (or just, like, next week shoes)

This week I’m going to take a peek at Miss L Fire shoes, but with this warning: These suckers are pretty limited edition in only limited sizes, so if you like something, you gotta grab them before they go out of stock. Strike quickly, like a cobra that only eats shoes. (And don’t blame me if stuff is already sold out… I tried, guys! I really tried!)

Inexpensive wedding shoes as cute as they are cheap from Carol Shoes

If you’re looking for high quality construction, luxury materials, and an impeccable fit, a pair of $22 shoes is probably not going to be your fantasy footwear. If, however, you’re only planning to wear shoes for a day and you just want them cute and cheaper than a dinner at Red Lobster, Carol Shoes may be your jam. Let’s take a look at these inexpensive wedding shoes that are high on cute, but inevitably low on quality (because sometimes that’s just fine). I’ve got heels, flats, chunky oxfords, and lots and lots of toe bows…

T-strap shoes that fit your wedding to a T {UPDATED for 2022!!}

Ugh, I’m sorry for the pun in the title. I can’t help myself sometimes! Let’s ignore my terrible puns and talk about t-strap shoes instead. This vintage-ish style is a nod to the shoes of the 1920s and 1930s, although these modern replicas definitely have a sass all their own. T-straps have the advantage of feeling a bit more stable on your foot than an open shoe — and if you’re looking for stability, I made a point to include some adorable t-strap flats in this round up, too.

A zoo wedding with handmade international details

Jennifer and Abdoulaye are truly an international couple: she hails from the States and he’s from Guinea, and they met while working in Mali. A coup d’état in the country led to Jennifer moving back home, and their relationship blossomed thanks to Skype and long-distance phone calls. Once reunited in the US they quickly eloped, and hosted a wedding a few months later at the Virginia Zoo.

A vintage-inspired California farm wedding with jasmine, goats, and a coral dress

Abra and Jeff got hitched at Roshambo Farms, aka sun-drenched barnyard heaven — complete with chickens, turkeys, and goats. In the months leading up to the wedding, the bride’s mother amassed a collection of vintage silk and cotton lace, and Abra’s childhood friend used the pieces to fashion her dusty coral wedding gown. Guests also gifted the couple handwritten blessings (to be opened on the denoted anniversary).
