Make an envelope from a Google Map

mapenvelope.com + wax seal 5

Send your invitation wrapped in a map — make a Google map into the envelope. I love the idea of sending a hope-you'll-be-here note with a red dot marking the spot. Want to do this yourself? Easy-peasy, homies — here's how:

How-To:

  1. Go to mapenvelope.com
  2. Print the map on A4.
  3. Maybe close it with your awesome custom wax seal?

    • Hi,
I’m getting a thin strip of map at the top, what do you do with that?
      Vinita 🙂

  1. Am I the only one who always rips envelopes open? Patterned/lined envelops never made sense to me because I never “open” envelopes.

    • You are definitely not the only one, and I’m glad you pointed this out to me before I ran and did this (because honestly it IS really cool!). My mail tends to look like my dogs got to it when I’m done trying to open it.

      I think I need a letter opener…

  2. SUCH a good idea!! Looks like they would be too small for my big ol’ invites, though. =/ But wait…I could use this for another time!

  3. You can print them out onto larger paper for larger envelopes, too. 🙂

Also, yes – the wax seal idea was to encourage opening more gently. I, too, am a “did the dog open that with his teeth” letter opener, generally.

  4. This sounds like a great idea, but it’s not generating an image for me. What browsers/computers are you successful ladies using?

  5. Has anyone tried to customize this for 5×7 invitations? I was hoping to profit from someone else’s wisdom rather than using up tons of paper in trial and error.

  6. This looks so awesome! But sadly it seems to be down. Anyone has an Idea what other service to use?
