Ok, why didn't someone tell me about Ruche.com sooner?! For those of you who are leaning towards the vintage-y/classic end of the wedding aesthetics spectrum (as opposed to the rainbow carnival freakout or zombie-chic), this place is your new favorite website. Some of their stuff reminds me of BHLDN's styling, but without the $128 buckets and other overpriced pomp. Their bridal lookbooks? TO DIE FOR. They're like vintage-tinged fever dreams that I want to crawl into and pretend I'm more understated and chic than I actually am. (We all know what end of the spectrum I'M on.)
And their prices? HOLY SHIT. Cute vintage-styled dresses under $300? And sweet-ass accessories like veils and headpieces under $50. Aww, yeah. Let's take a look at what they've got:
(As always, click the pictures to learn more.)
Let's line it up here…
Take a tea-length vintage-styled dress
…add sleeves (RARE!)
…add pockets (FUN!)
…add availablility up to 3X (thought they run small, so it's really only about a 12)
What do you get?
THE HOLY GRAIL OF DRESSES.
Addison Eve: $75
Simple. Strapless. Straight-forward. DIRT CHEAP.
Camilla Mae: $105
Another one that's pretty simple, but ooh: lookit those sleeves.
This one costs a little bit more, but I am adoring the 1920s-feel to the length and the scalloped edges. And those little fluttery sleeves with the detailing! It's like a butterfly decided to knit you some sleeves with its adorable tiny mandibles.
[Edited to add: butterflies don't have mandibles. They also do not knit. Offbeat Bride regrets both errors.]
Another one with SLEEVES. Oh, sleeves. You are so rare and special, when it comes to bridal gowns. This one is also right at the top of my "under $300" range, but still pretty dang affordable.
Ooh, and some of their accessories…
Ok, ok. I gotta stop myself here. Seriously, just head on over to Ruche's bridal section. If you're into the vintage-looking thing, this is SO up your alley, and the prices are just right for the budget brides:
