cherry blossom square ring pillow alternative wedding ideas from Offbeat Wed (formerly Offbeat Bride)Inspired by this little cherry blossom number over here (how much do you love the pocket!?), I decided to go on a trek to find even MOAR awesome ring pillows and ring holders.

Speaking of pockets, of course your pocket will work fine as a ring holder, and you don't NEED a ring pillow or special ring holder of any kind. BUT I was surprised to find that even traditional ring pillows have come a long way recently and I wanted to share some of my favorite finds in case you're interested.

Obviously in the past Offbeat Brides have gotten REALLY creative with their ring pillows. But what if you don't have time to make a Lego ring box or the skills to create a ring bearer outfit for your dog? What if you actually dig the whole ring pillow tradition? That's okay: for the craft-challenged and the Offbeat Lite alike, here are some ring pillows (way beyond the pretty white satin ones), and ring pillow alternatives (roses, eggs, dog wings…) that are available to you RIGHT EFFING NOW!

As always, click on ANY of the photos to learn more about each ring holder:

Comments on 19 ring bearer options that’ll make you die from teh cute

  1. I’m LOVING the ring dishes! It’s something I probably never would have thought of in a million years, but it’s a great way to reuse your wedding supplies. Probably not little-kid friendly, but suhweet.

  2. Yup, those are awesome!
We used my stuffed stegosaurus because he has sentimental value and it was hilarious watching friends and family pass him around for the ring warming. At home I have a pretty silver ring dish with two birds on the edges. Very classy but also cute (and it saves me from knocking my rings into the sink and down the drain!).

  3. omfg dog wings.

I’ve pretty much been sitting here repeating that for ten minutes now.

  4. Thank you for this post, I was just looking into items the Ring Bearer could hold. We are not having a “flower girl”, so I was looking for something that could combine between holding rings and a “the bride is coming” sign.

  5. Great ideas!

Heads up on that pretty silver rose though. I used to sell them and they tarnish like a mo-fo and the hinge is fairly delicate. More defectives than sellable pieces.

  6. At my wedding, the flower girl was also the ring bearer. She carried a groovy girl doll wearing a flowery outfit in a pretty basket. We pushed the rings onto the dolls arms, like tiny bracelets. Then our flower girl got to keep the doll as a present. And it looked pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself.

  7. We’ll be having our rings carried in a treasure chest by a little pirate! 🙂

  8. I love the ring dish idea! Especially since you can re-use it after the wedding. Too bad my wedding has come and gone.

Although after yet another round of “where the hell did I leave my ring last night?” this morning I’m thinking one of those might be a good idea anyway.

  9. I like the idea of the egg and all that it symbolizes. For some reason I think that would look best if the bands inside were supersimple.
Our ringbearer was a unicorn, so she carried them down the aisle on her horn.

  10. My cousin-in-law has the rings tied to the door of a little model 57 Chevy. His theory was the ringbearer would want to hang on to the car so he wouldn’t lose the rings. This is him with the car:

We didn’t have any kids we thought were appropriate to have in our party so we just had an attendants on each side carry one of the rings. They were carrying candle-lanterns (with LED candles) instead of boquets (yup, both sides – blue lanterns for bride’s side and red for groom’s side) so we tied the rings to the top of the lanterns with ribbon. And just in case they decided to knot up one of the attendants had a small pair of scissors (this turned out not to be problem):

  11. I love the unique ideas, both in the post and the comments, for ring bearers! Now I just have to figure out what I want to do for my wedding…

  12. i plan to make my own pillow with my grandma’s sewing machine since she passed away. it’s a way to kind of have her there.

  13. my fiance and I are having our ringbearer carry to rings I a pokeball
