Sometimes couples are confronted with traditions they love and offbeat trends they love, and somehow have to meld it all into a cohesive celebration. These two did that and more. Take special note of the amazing DIY doily archway, the intricate centerpieces, and the tear-filled groom — *swoon.* Come for the lawn games, stay for the sentiment of the group poetry reading.

Do you remember that time I freaked out about the couple who made a Save the Date video parody of an iPad commercial? Since that time our darling offbeat brides have produced so many more freak out-worthy Save the Date videos. We're talking Family Matters parodies, animated Legos, and Steampunk and stop-motion videos galore. Guys, I'm not the least bit embarrassed about how much I really love writing about offbeat sponsor Little Things Favors. I love looking at all the awesome wedding ecoutrement that can be found over there. I even recently bought party favors for my grandma's 80th birthday from Little Things! But don't let their name fool you — Little Things Favors offer much MUCH more than just favors. You can get practically ANYTHING you want for your wedding over there. Allow me to show you a few of my favorites little things (see what I did there?)… A troupe of body builders, stilt walkers in studded thongs, 75 dancers, in-character actors serving food, and eight bodyguards for the couple — yep, it happened. And it happened in Bali, in an amazing venue, despite seemingly insurmountable familial doubt. But hey, you want the performance of a lifetime, you do what you have to do to get it. And boy, did they. Singing vows, locally-sourced and vegan cuisine, granola and plantable tree favors… have I got your attention yet? Despite getting rained out of their chosen forest ceremony site, this couple moved it all into a hunting lodge to continue the singing and celebrating. You know how up there in the header it say "WedSites"? Have you ever clicked that tab? Ever noticed how Offbeat Bride has teamed up with MyWedding.com to offer free wedding websites with Offbeat-centric templates? You never knew that you could make an informational page about your wedding for your guests completely free? No? You never noticed that? Well, you should get clicking, friends… because HOLY SHIT, our longtime pals at Royal Steamline have just added some brand-spanking-new GORGEOUS wedding website templates that you won't get anywhere else. We're talking evocative and emotional templates that perfectly capture an era or a mood — whether that's Neo-Victorian airships or Art Nouveau noire. It's a good thing the mothers convinced these two to get a tent or they'd have been playing in the puddles all night long. But no parades were rained on, and the party was started with a pig roast, a giant cinnamon roll, some personal touches, and a roaming kitteh. You will like this adorable Virginia wedding on a budget. Scott Pilgrim-inspired Save the Dates seriously kick some major ass! Check out how two of our offbeat brides pulled off Scott Pilgrim Save the Dates and wedding invitations. And then learn how you too could do the very same… at your own risk, of course. |
